Keenum is the Bears version of Dalton except the Bears are smart enough to keep him at #3. I look at the Eagles defense and see, compared to 2025 that #2 CB is significantly better. But Dean is better than Campbell and Reed with his issues is still better than Epps. Greenard was supposed to replace Phillips but has been a no-show. So I don't trust the defense. The Eagles haven't proven they can stop the run, Carter is hindered with that cast and the Bears are the #1 rushing team in the league. What is the hate on Keenum v Bagent? Bagent has thrown 158 NFL passes to 2,233 passes for Keenum. Similar career completion percentages but Keenum’s rating exceeds his by about 13%. Keenum has the NCAA FBS record for passing yards and completions. Now, Case never had a great arm, but he’s seen just about everything (suspect that is why Dalton is active for the Birds at this point over McKee). I am more worried about Keenum than Bagent at this point.

I am more worried about Keenum than Bagent at this point.I had the pleasure of watching Keenum as a HS junior beat my alma mater, and my two nephews in the state semi finals at the old Texas Stadium back in ‘04. He was incredibly athletic back in the day. They went on to win the 3A D1 championship the next week over Cuero. He was also incredibly good in college at Houston as you’ve mentioned. He hasn’t had a stellar career in the NFL but he has always been a heck of a competitor.
September 27Sep 27 Adding a technological slant to this discussion, here is an interesting perspectiveIf you're asking "Which one creates more possibilities for an opposing defense to worry about?”, I'd separate experience from volatility.Keenum gives you the more established quarterback profile. He's demonstrated over a long career that he can run an NFL offense and has substantially more evidence of success.Bagent is more of an unknown quantity. His career numbers aren't as strong, but his familiarity with Chicago and his willingness to operate outside the most conservative version of the offense can make him an interesting change of pace. His four starts in 2023 are still the largest sample for evaluating him as a starter. So I wouldn't characterize Bagent as simply "better" or Keenum as simply "better." Keenum represents a larger body of demonstrated NFL quarterbacking; Bagent represents greater uncertainty and a different style of quarterback play. And there's an intriguing wrinkle for the Bears right now: after Williams' hamstring injury, the question isn't theoretical anymore. Chicago has to decide how much of its offense can be maintained with Bagent—or whether Keenum's experience becomes more valuable.
September 27Sep 27 Green Bay searching for OLine answers:"The Green Bay Packers are adding some reinforcements to their beleaguered offensive line, and are poaching the Dallas Cowboys to do it. The club is signing veteran lineman Laken Tomlinson off of Dallas' practice squad, according to NFL Network. Because Tomlinson is arriving to Lambeau Field via the Cowboys practice unit, he will be required to sign to Green Bay's active 53-man roster.”
September 27Sep 27 Let's go to the tape folks. Besides Keenum having not played a game in almost 3 years and now 38. He should be rusty and aged. What is impressive about these stats since 2020 and looks scary to you?

For the past 3 years I have no idea how fans could convince themselves to get excited again each year when they knew exactly what I know as an outsider looking in. And then to allow their excitement to grow for these post-season appearances when you absolutely know how its going to end.Id be happy to see them miss the playoffs and hope it makes them blow it up (for the most part).

I would not be surprised to see a few minor moves made and reload the bullpen (again). The roster is old and this team is way over the tax. A complete blow up would take years and unfortunately might be the only way back.

September 27Sep 27 A&M getting smacked again. As a New Mexican, I always root against anything Texas but, I got to tell you, Mike Elko blowing a gasket brings me joy. Something about it.Kind of like Spurrier, Jason Garrett (aka The big Tomato), Brian Daboll and, my favorite of all time, Dave Campo. That guy would his ish and nothing was more hilarious 🤣
