September 30Sep 30 The clips of Hurts pitching a fit about the blue tent visit - worth pointing out it was the Zebras that who told him to go to the sidelines and seek medical attention after the independent Doc raised concerns - Hurts lack of movement post hit inferred he was injured. Yes, a timeout could have been called to get him back in, but he has history or trying to bluff out concussion symptoms and you don't rush those assessments because a player is angry. The decision was out of Sirianni's hand's and lest we forget the Gints being punished for Daboll getting involved when Dart was in the blue tent.

Epps and Carter both suck. Mukuba isn't much better. They either need to trade for a safety or move Coop to safety full time and play Kenny Moore at nickel corner. Lastly, the easiest thing to do and one that has the best chance of happening, take Campbell out and put Trot Jr in. Campbell shouldn't be playing over him because of where he was drafted. We desperately need a sure tackling downhill thumper in this defense right now.I don't think we want to plug Lampkin at G. Due to his weight he'll likely have similar issues as Jurgens. I'm still a bit baffled why the new OL coach trained up Kendall at LG but didn't use him there (and allow Cam to settle in at his natural position).

September 30Sep 30 If they drop to 2-3 they should shop around DeJean to see if they can land a 1st round pick for him. His partying lifestyle seems to be impacting his play this season in what is essentially a contact year. Might be better to sell instead of committing a lot of money to someone like that.

You can’t lay motionless on the sideline after taking a hit without going through that protocol. Whether Hurts was trying to milk it to draw the flag, who knows. But if you show any signs of head trauma you’re coming out of the game.I said this yesterday, but QBs are getting too greedy in trying to get an extra couple of yards. Go down and avoid the hit. It is not the defender’s responsibility to protect you. It’s why the Brees comment was idiotic last week when he criticized Hurts for sliding early in the Tennessee game.
September 30Sep 30 The only player(s) that should be shopped right now is Dalton or McKee. If you really think Dalton is a better option than McKee then see what you can get for McKee. Someone would give up a 6th or 7th if McCarthy can fetch a 5th. For the record, I think McKee is the better option but obviously the coaches feel different. I’d shop Dalton and cut him if there aren’t any takers. Having 4 QBs is dumb. Also don’t get the big whoopdie do on Payton. He looks like an above average athlete that has no shot at being even a quality backup. I can’t imagine teams would poach him off the practice squad.
September 30Sep 30 It's an old saw that you learn more from losing than you do from winning. Breaking down how the Bears chewed up our defense should help a lot. I'm particularly thinking of the two receivers releasing through the C gap. The second guy though might have been invisible for all the attention he gathered. Or the slants they ran so effectively - the angles the receivers took were more upfield than the typical 45 degree angle on most slants. This kept the receivers away from the LB interior zone coverages. The defense was not overpowered by the Bears, as it was last season, but failed to adjust, to read keys timely, or not at all - leading to busted coverages.Conversely, of course, it was a blueprint for other teams on how to attack Fangio's defense and we can expect to see a lot more of it. It's up to Vic to adjust.
September 30Sep 30 While you can never make any declarations after a 4th game in a season, I feel like if the Eagles put up another pathetic effort on Sunday and get stomped, it's probably gonna be a disaster season. Because that would speak more to than just talent and coaching, that would speak to a lack of fight. Hungry teams due for greatness don't usually get embarrassed in back to back weeks. That's below .500 team crap.

Eagles have been trying to fix the CB spot for years. Now that we have finally fixed that problem, let's trade our 2nd best cb because of his "lifestyle"

He's never called plays before, he's installing a new offense, he's learning about his players, and he may be dealing with Nick trying to interject things into his offense. Toast is right people need to relax.I don't think Mannion is a failure. The team is 2-1. The one loss isn't all on him. Repeatedly making mistakes and stubbornly running plays that do not fit the personnel is inexplicable. 11 hours ago, eagle45 said:I’m not calling Mannion a failure, FWIW. I’m just saying that swapping Patullo out for a new OC doesn’t magically make this a good offense. There are major personnel problems that were overlooked because of the Patullo hatred and are being overlooked now just because we are 3 games into a new offense. My entire point is that this isn’t about the OC.One underrated coaching problem is probably the downgrade from Stoutland to Kuper. I am not saying bringing Stoutland back would fix the problem but the o-line looks confused. They are missing free rushers on protection calls. Sure Jurgens is getting beat at times but he is not the sole problem. O-line talent is an issue but I do think Howie tried to address it in the offseason. The roster bigger roster problems may be more about construction rather than talent. The other problem is that the non o-line blockers do not fit the scheme. They need to have someone besides Wicks with size at WR to be a blocker. They need to have TEs that can block and Mundt has been sub-par. Drafting Stowers when he does not fit the scheme is idiotic and shows a lack of understanding between the coaching staff and scouts. It may show a lack of understanding from the HC to the OC as well.

He cannot stay engaged and gets easily shed. He does not have the mobility which was the whole reason he was drafted. Lampkin locks on to defenders and doesn't lose leverage. He may get bull rushed but he's going to be hard to shed.

September 30Sep 30 I don't think Mannion is a failure but it's kinda obvious he's in over his head at the moment. And also we should never take what players say in the offseason seriously.
