So so difficult to project college players there bc ifs so cerebral

Feels like the days of Dawk, Jenkins, McLoud were so long ago. Even Mikell was solid

John Harbaugh. His last year as ST coach was 20 years ago. He switched to DB coach in 07 before going to Balt in 08.

I probably should've typed the whole thing out. I was talking about having good safeties

I don't get the rush for some to call him a failure after 3 weeks. He's never called plays before, he's installing a new offense, he's learning about his players, and he may be dealing with Nick trying to interject things into his offense. Toast is right people need to relax.

You also need to mention the offense was the same system last year while they are trying to install a new one this year so it ranking lower doesn't phase me. They look much better at times and others they look the same. Patullo was a POS as an OC. Weeks 4-6 we'll have a better idea of what this offense will look like and I'm sure many will be foaming at the mouth to say it sucks.

I would also add he makes the point for Pattulo but keeps saying that we have a lack of talent on offense. Pattulo had AJ Brown, an all pro caliber WR and Devonta smith who was relatively healthy most of the year. Furthermore, had worked with Sirianni and been in the Eagles organization for a while now. So there was familiarity with the personnel. I’d also add he had stoutland to help him and yet basically alienated him and reports he wasn’t even communicating/on same page as the OL.

So Pattulo had an offense with more talent as they had better than wicks and lemon and was just as bad. Add on he wasn’t implementing a new blocking scheme or system. Eagles offense was better early in the season and got worse as the season went on. First 8 games avg 24.4 ppg (on offense taking out defensive or ST teams). Last 10 games 19 ppg.

Tbh I think Pattulo never adapted and got worse as a year progressively went on. The difference I’m hoping with mannion is he smart enough to know he has start adapting tweaking as the season goes on and he builds off of his play calling. If he doesn’t do that then guess what you’re kinda in the same situation as Pattulo.

Add-on, another issue is that sirianni isn’t familiar with this offensive system. This isn’t his background. So you’re having a guy first year OC, first year play calling and having to implement his entirely system since being hired. frankly the Eagles don’t have the ideal personnel (tight end and some of the OL) to make this system to function the way he wants.

The fact that the Eagles can break a huddle with a playcall and get to the LOS on time is proof that Mannion is an upgrade over Patullo.

Cut Red Riffle please

That elite talent on defense hasn't shown up on defense outside Q, Hunt, and Baun. There's tons of problems with this team. The offense stinks and the qb has been meh

True, I think you are giving too much credit to Hunt though, he has done nothing outside of training camp.

Right now Eagles are virtually a 5 player only defense, 3 x DTs, 1 x CB & 1 x LB, rest are all ghosts...

Maybe if he didn’t pout so much he could have been out of the tent sooner and Nick would be able to call a time out before Red Rocket snaps the ball on third down.

If Eagles are indeed a family, they must get their house in order | PhillyVoice

McKee needs to be back up. We already know what Dalton is.

I’m starting to think that opposing OC’s and OL coaches are advising their linemen that they are just as likely to get an interesting personal foul and flag out of holding Carter as they are to get tagged with a holding penalty. They are going to hold until it gets called.

The day after a game is always overreaction.

I’m not calling Mannion a failure, FWIW. I’m just saying that swapping Patullo out for a new OC doesn’t magically make this a good offense. There are major personnel problems that were overlooked because of the Patullo hatred and are being overlooked now just because we are 3 games into a new offense.

My entire point is that this isn’t about the OC.

@Iggles_Phan had a really good idea of somebody just "going down” to give them more time to check them out so he can make it back on the field. They actually should just call 5$3 play "sniper in the bushes”. they send somebody out there for a play and he just goes down after a play and takes a long time to come off the field lol

Watching some of these breakdowns give me hope for Makuba. Mental mistakes you can learn from. He has the physical ability to play the position. He may not a physical fill the box safety but if he can learn how to be disciplin3d with his responsibilities I think he can be good in pass coverage. Like much of defense, he needs to eliminate the mental breakdowns and focus on his responsibilities.

If sirianni is fired at the end of the year I totally think one of the first moves the Eagles will try to make is bringing Jeff stoutland.

I did love Skinny Batman stepping up like that.
