Not sure how much weight it carries but Seth Joyner mentioned in the post game that he has heard (within the building) that one of the main reasons Mannion is up in the booth, is because that keeps him away from the sideline, just in case Sirianni wants to step in. Could be BS, halfway true or true.Regardless of the dogs*** game that we played Monday - I really hope Sirianni does not allow his ego to get in the way of this team trying to find it's identity. In all honestly, if true, get him TF out of here - I'm tired of doing this each and every year where we hire puppets who never get to have autonomy.
September 30Sep 30 I’m willing to give the offense another couple of weeks to find a rhythm. Reshuffled offensive line, new system, Mannion trying to find his groove, etc. I am, however, not willing to put up with how the defense has looked so far. This is the unit that was supposed to carry the team early on and had minimal turnover from last season. It’s inexcusable with how they’ve looked so far.

At least we saw that we CAN run the football.

You can’t lay motionless on the sideline after taking a hit without going through that protocol. Whether Hurts was trying to milk it to draw the flag, who knows. But if you show any signs of head trauma you’re coming out of the game.I said this yesterday, but QBs are getting too greedy in trying to get an extra couple of yards. Go down and avoid the hit. It is not the defender’s responsibility to protect you. It’s why the Brees comment was idiotic last week when he criticized Hurts for sliding early in the Tennessee game.I don't. Another sport has players wear mouthguards with an RFID chip in to track collision velocity. Where it hits a certain level, they player goes off for a mandatory medical test to ensure they aren't hiding any symptoms - can see it becoming a thing in the NFL within a few years to show they are protecting players. Agree on Hurts trying to milk it for all its worth - he sold it too well.

September 30Sep 30 We literally scored only 7 points against a Bears defense. And that 7 points came from the luckiest bs I've seen in a while. The play call to Smith that ended up creating the TD was not a brain fart. It was someone doing something undefendable. One of the dumbest playcalls I've seen. The constant Lemon play, undefendable. This whole not being able to score in the first quarter goes back 3 years maybe more, I'm not sure. Coming out of half time laying eggs goes back years, yet the OC is changing every year. There is SOMETHING that is consistent on this team that is creating these situations. Even Moore wasn't that great. We were carried to a SB by an o-line and Barkley. I'll give credit to Nick and Hurts when they do something well, but there's too many consistencies between both of them that carry over each year. I'm tired of seeing WR's open not getting the ball. I'm tired of having no hot reads. The inability to go in the middle, and the inconsistency to work with a poor oline. I saw another post about McNabb and what was around him and its completely accurate. We have 2 guys who are consistency a big part of this game and both of them are not evolving. Hurts just has a problem seeing the field if he doesn't have a perfect Oline and you have to adapt.

The first seven points would have happened if they didn't take a cheap shot on Hurts. The points they did score were thanks to Hurts playing like an MVP moving them down the field then putting it in so stop calling it lucky BS.

Because that would speak more to than just talent and coaching, that would speak to a lack of fight. Hungry teams due for greatness don't usually get embarrassed in back to back weeks. That's below .500 team crap. This is very true. I feel like most posters in here lose sight of the reality that a blog on a message board is for talking, bouncing ideas, discussing concerns, talking about upside, planning armchair moves....I think only one of those elements is welcomed by the unofficial morale police around here these days.So in terms of official declarations...you keep at it. Cut out the throws behind the LOS to Lemon on offense, maybe you make a small change at safety...but keep implementing the offense and don't panic on defense. That's the only approach and mentality for a coach/player to take. But from the outside speculating in...yea, does this look like a team that has eroding talent, a no-longer elite defense, a doomed OL, a QB that throws too many INT's when you ask him to be a traditional passer, and a global needle that is pointed down? Of course it looks that way.

Then Saquon was due for a big run late in the game to close it out after inept play.

Sirianni probably does have influence on the game plan and makes suggested plays during the week.

Yes, a timeout could have been called to get him back in, but he has history or trying to bluff out concussion symptoms and you don't rush those assessments because a player is angry. The decision was out of Sirianni's hand's and lest we forget the Gints being punished for Daboll getting involved when Dart was in the blue tent.I am not sure if he was frustrated at Sirianni or that the independent neurologist was taking so long to make the call. He didn't argue about getting assessed. He was mad after getting assessed and being told to wait.

SPEAKERS IN HELMETS. The Coach-to-Player system allows a member of the coaching staff in the bench areaor the coaches’ booth to communicate to a designated offensive or defensive player with a speaker in his helmet. Thecommunication begins once a game official has signaled a down to be over and is cut off when the play clock reaches 15 secondsor the ball is snapped, whichever occurs first. Each offensive and defensive team is permitted no more than one player on the field with a speaker in his helmet. Each team ispermitted to have a maximum of three active radio receivers to be used on offense by its quarterbacks, and a maximum of threeactive radio receivers to be used on defense by players who have been designated as primary and backup users.Clubs that have a player whose principal position is as a non-quarterback (e.g., wide receiver, running back) and who also is usedas a quarterback from time to time must have two helmets for that player—one with and one without radio components. When a quarterback enters the game for the first time or re-enters the game if he has previously been in the game and removed,he must report to the Referee.Whenever the backup defensive user enters or re-enters the game wearing a helmet with a speaker, he must report to the Umpire. If the primary defensive user subsequently re-enters the game wearing a helmet with a speaker, he must report to the Umpire. Ifthe primary and backup players have been removed from the game, no other player may wear the radio speaker in his helmet.Teams must use other methods to communicate signals to their players. It is not necessary that the offensive player with the speaker in his helmet receive the snap. For special teams’ plays, only one player per team with a receiver will be permitted on the field. All players that have radio components in their helmet must have a decal, supplied by the League, displayed on the midline of therear of the helmet. Players who have speakers in their helmets must be identified in the Communication System section of theGame Day Administration Report that is submitted to the Referee or a member of his crew no later than one hour and 30 minutesprior to kickoff. For additional requirements and policies pertaining to the system, including regulations for the storage of a backup helmet for anon-quarterback who is used as a quarterback, or for the backup defensive player’s helmet, please refer to the Policy Manual forMember Clubs/Game Operations. So - it is one-way communication from one coach either in the booth or on the field to one player on the field.
