One guy in fact tried twiceBut you do see every defensive player besides the rushers drop straight back in a Jim Schwartz picket fence there completely conceding the reception. He made someone miss, which is probably why they force the ball to him at the LOS. But the route and reception were against air.

September 29Sep 29 I was surprised when Blankenship got the bag from a great defensive team like the Texans. But not surprised he may be getting benched. He did not look good last year. Yes he's better than what we have. But rather look elsewhere. It's like going back to get Becton. Its a nice idea if you are thinking circa 2024. But not for today. I want more speed back there as Reed is limited. Carter might be an okay placeholder. Think Coop needs to be that Swiss Army knife that we think he is and take that other spot. On paper, tackling between Carter, Coop and Moore should see a nice uptick. Also, should have increased acuity in play diagnosis and football instincts. We are poor and hesitant right now in that department.

If he played for the Broncos the last few years for example and you saw what he was doing in Houston this year you'd want to trade for him? It's sentimentality.

He tackled well, made some timely picks but his deep speed always held him back
September 29Sep 29 People who want Blankenship back realize he’s statistically been one of the worst defensive players in the league so far, right? If you want to clamor for someone to come back it’s Nakobe.

September 29Sep 29 Historically, the Eagles have done a really, really good job of throwing some interchangeable parts together at safety and getting respectable results. This year is the first time I can remember where the safety play has just been straight trash.I thought Mukuba was pretty lousy last year and everyone’s impression of him was saved because he pulled down a couple ints. But he plus a steady but not special Blankenship were fine back there. And then he got hurt and gave way to Epps and I thought the safety play actually even improved. But the two of them together are just awful.

This team is going to need them next year. Tons of holes to fill. @hputenis is smiling somewhere

Howie got CJ a few years ago for a reason and the impact he made. He got him back for that same reason. Going with a JAG and a guy who gets injured with Carter as the only backup was a horrible plan. He gets cheap at the wrong times. 4-5 million dollars and we aren't having this conversation. Same thing at guard and TE.

Maybe it'll incentives Davis to play betterYou ever seen a 6'6 336lb DT get pushed off the ball in the run game like Davis does? You think he'd be able to control the LOS a little better than that. Do you think the NFL would allow us to hang a twinkie off the front of his helmet for extra motivation. Kinda like dangling a carrot in front of a horse

Keep 'em coming. The Eagles were gonna lay a stinker at some point. And I knew you would be here today in full force. To be real, until the Eagles have their full deck with Goedert and have a player who is not disabled at LG, it will be hard to assess the ceiling of this offense. I already feel the floor here is higher in the little evidence we have. Mannion needs at least a half a season to get his feet wet. No? Like Fangio, (who was a vet) they are installing a new and more complicated scheme. He's making rookie mistakes for sure. But he has brought some new concepts and creativity to know he is already better than Patullo. Very low bar. That was a high school offense last year that was sabatoged by a toxic diva. Long way to go here before pumping your chest.

September 30Sep 30 Something no one else has brought up yet. What the hell was the point of bringing in so many new voices for everything to look basically the same? Grizzard, Jerrod Johnson, Mahaffey and I feel like I’m still missing someone they hired who didn’t get the OC job but brought in after the fact anyway.
