October 6Oct 6 The Eagles are just not fun to watch anymore. Burn it down if they get stomped in London by the Jaguars. The real important question to be asked right now. It's October 6th, and our pool is still opened. Is our HOA suddenly cool?
October 6Oct 6 Just now, Sack that QB said:The "Eagles shouldn't have gone for it on 4th and goal" discourse this week has driven me nuts. It's because people just want to attack Sirianni no matter what he does and if he kicked the FG and they lost by one the same people would've went at him for being a coward. You have 2 yards to win the game. You take that proposition 100 times out of 100. People can argue the offense sucked, but it doesn't matter. For one, the offense drove down to the 2 yard line in their one real drive of the game, so if there was a drive to go for it, it was that drive. Two, you should be able to score from the 2 regardless of personnel. And if you fail Rams get the ball at the 2, where if you kick the FG, Rams need 2 TDs but likely start their drive at the 35. The defense was missing key guys, they were hanging on for dear life. Go out and get 2 yards and win the game. I commend him for going for the kill there instead of taking a "Hang on and pray" approach, which is a loser mentality. And the Rams would have won that game either way. The defense was shot, the rain lightened up, the Rams figured it out, the defense had too many injuries. The Rams were scoring 2 TDs to end that game, momentum or not. It's just an old school train of thought vs new school. I'm perfectly fine with the decision. Being aggressive gave us our first Lombardi with the Philly Special. It also has worked out in our favor many other times.Being passive cost the Jags a trip to the SB in 2017. It partially cost us a SB in 2022. It also seems to bite Sean McVay multiple times throughout each season.

I can't tell you how many times were down within the 5 yard line and our RB's are expecting our piss poor interior OL to create good holes, and we have nowhere to run. Take matters in your own hands. We had 2 very good tries and I'm pretty sure one of them would have beat the defender to the pylonI didn't mind going for it either but that TD was a HUGE need, at whatever cost.
October 6Oct 6 My favorite thing right now is media and fans pretending the Oline wasn’t complete butt last year under Soutland as well.

The Eagles on that drive had gone 10 plays for 62 yards. They were running the ball at a 6.2 yards per carry clip. So that was really the longest drive. They had all game and the most rhythm/function they had in a while. So they had momentum on their side. Granted, the third down play didn’t work and it was less rams doing and more their own. you know how much confidence and momentum that might have built for the Eagles offense that they were the ones when it came crunch time to punch in that touchdown and end the game against a team that everybody was picking to go to the Super Bowl. Coach believed in them to do it and they accomplished it. Building blocks towards getting better. If the Eagles offense punches that ball in the game is pretty much over with it being 3 possessions and 8 minutes. You’re up 17. It would take quite a miracle for the Rams to get 3 more possessions in that game. They were likely going to need an onside kick recovery to do it.

Chance to go up 3 scores and put the game away vs keeping a team mathematically in the game. Of course it's harder to come back from down 13 than 10, but if you convert the game is over. The old school I don't mind is less obvious things like being down 14 and going for 2 if you score a TD to cut it to 6. Or kicking a FG on 4th and 2 from the 30 if your offense is struggling even though analytics would say that's a go for it situation. I think debates can be had in those situations and "feel" factors in more in situations like that. But the situation on Sunday was about as common sense as it gets. 2 yards to win the game vs 3 points to keep the other team alive. Absolutely no brainer.

The Rams offense up to that point in the 2nd half, was like punt/missed FG/punt/downs (after Siri gave them a short field) - I don't think it was a foregone conclusion that the D couldn't hold out. Didn't an INT hit Jones in the hands?Again, they’re an analytic organization. The analytics over the first four games have told you they only score on 1 out of every 4 possessions in the second half. They were only gonna have six possessions. again, these are analytics that get put into your thinking that this was the best chance they could score and put the game awayI would also ask you this isn’t it deflating for an offense that you’re at the 2 yard line with a chance to basically end the game and your head coach says I don’t believe in you enough to get that 2 yards even though the drive where they went 62 yards and had a 6.2 yards per carry average? I feel like if the Eagles get that touchdown the benefit is you might have built some confidence. Imo that is a huge confidence builder for the offense to end the game on that type of drive, against that opponent who many have picked to win a Super Bowl. Also on the defense, their 4th quarters have statistically been the worst quarter for the defense. They’re giving up the most yards in the 4th quarter of any quarter. They’re giving up the most points in the 4th quarter of any quarter. They’re giving up the most first downs in the 4th quarter of any quarter. They’ve have given up late drives that resulted in points for commanders (2x), titans and rams (2x). I’m guessing knowing those facts and knowing that you’re down your best corner, down your best linebacker, down your best pass rusher, Cooper dealing with an injury played a role in going for a 3 possession game.I’d also point out the defense had to prevent them from going 98 yards to score a touchdown on the first drive. They gave up a 20 yard reception and then a 33 yard reception. So the defense was depleted and probably gassed so I look at it is it makes more sense knowing that your defense has been bad in the fourth quarter all year, you’re depleted and probably out of gas so try to go up 3 scoresI’d also point out in all this, the Eagles defense had played 57 plays before the last two Rams touchdowns. The Rams defense had played 53 plays. Time of possession in second half was 11:20 for rams and 11:14 for eagles up until those last two scoring drives. And overall it was basically just under 27 mins for the rams and just under 26 for the eagles to that point. So I really think depleted defense finally broke and rams finally exploited it.
October 6Oct 6 EJ Smith, who was first to predict that Kendall would start at center and Jurgens move to LG said he thinks Lampkin will play center and Kendall will be moved over to LG.If he's right, I think it's the right call for the Eagles.

If he kicks the field goal and the rams scored two touchdowns, the conversation on here is why didn’t you try to score from the 2 yard line to end that game knowing your defense was "gassed” and depleted. You had been moving the ball offense that possession and rams getting that stop to a FG gave them some life. added the rest of the possession they hadn’t shown anything in the second half. That conversation 100% is happening if they kicked the field goal and they still lost by a point.I’m not a sirianni guy. Frankly believe he and hurts are gone by 2028. I’m more upset that he went for it on the opposite side of the field on 4 and a long one. That should’ve been a punting situation as didn’t want to basically give the rams the ball at the 38. Frankly two things save sirianni on that. First their kicker has had issues in Philadelphia. Last 5 quarters they’ve had two FG blocks and a missed FG. So I don’t think he trusted his kicker, especially after he saw him miss a 48 yard field goal given the conditions. Secondly, the officials called a 15 yard penalty bailed the defense and sirianni out.

So we were in the exact same situation we would have been this past Sunday if we kicked the field goal to keep it just a 3 score game but with even more time on the clock then there was in that playoff game.A TD at the goalline would have put the game away for the Eagles. A FG would have accomplished nothing when the Rams were still able to win the game with 2 scores, which they ended up doing.I can't anyone's football opinion seriously if they are unable to understand that going for it on 4th and goal down at the 1 1/2 yard line to turn it into a 3 score game is 100% the correct call to make in that situation.Ah ok, well, we won with a 13 point lead. It still reinforces my belief that forcing them to need two TD's is the better way to approach it, rather than risking it for 17, or it stays at 10.

I’d guess they believe at lampkin’s size at G vs jags interior is not what they want. Frankly i don’t think Kendall or lampkins are Gs. Both better suited for center. Ditto with cam but they bought into he played G with Kelce here so has "experience” not that he wasn’t very good at it when he did play there

Where they seemed fine with Kendall playing guard even going back to last year where he practiced and prepared for both. Also the line calls haven't been very good, so it's possible the Eagles thinking Kendall gave them an edge there has now been written off.
October 6Oct 6 1 hour ago, e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! said:if we kick a field goal, the Rams have to get two touchdowns to win that game. So essentially, the kicker doesn’t come into play except for the extra points. Because at that point they’re not gonna have enough time to have 3 possessions to go touchdown, field goal, and another field goal. Especially with new kickoff rule and chances are minimal for an onside recovery. So essentially you eliminated the fat Rams kicker by making it 13Again, do you think it is far more likely that the Eagles could score a touchdown from the 2 yard line to make it 17 or more likely that they could get into field goal range being down one point? Based off how our offense looked most of second half that game and all season I’d argue it is far more likely that they could get a touchdown 2 yards away when they’re scoring in the red zone 62% of the time and going 3 and out/4 and out 62% of the time in the second half and 45% of the time overallYou’re combining the scenario and info on hand at the time with the final results here for this thinking.Eagles kick the FG and you’re up 13. The Eagles O has put points on the board…a little confidence going into their next drive hopefully. The Rams now need 2 TD’s to win, and the D was holding up pretty darn well all day….the Rams have a kicker who’s already missed a FG, kicked a ball OOB on a kick off. Him making essentially 4 kicks is a factor into the decisions. They also just gave up a longish FG drive…you have now go into it with the thought in the back of your head and analytics saying with the new KO rules that you have to think about the Eagles next drive. You have to flirt with the idea of a 2 point conversion after your first TD, if they got it.The best case scenario played out for the Rams…we failed the 4th down and they’re down 10 with plenty of time. They score a TD, the Eagles do jack ish with their possession giving it right back and they only need a FG to tie and make it a 0-0 game.Going for the TD wasn’t the wrong call…it just didn’t work out. If they would have kicked the FG and taken the points, that’s also not the wrong call.

It wasn't as if they were cooking all game. Also, Adams pushes off a lot. His numbers would've been worse if they actually called him for OPI like they should.
