Read what I wrote again…I’m responding to someone saying kicking a FG would have been pointless. I was ok with going for it…however, kicking a FG in that spot wouldn’t have been the wrong decision either. It’s a coin flip decision. There’s 100% merit to both sides.

I wouldn’t have minded that kick. I’d have gone for it and the win knowing how Stafford and rams have gone on crazy offensive heaters, defense in 4th quarter and being gassed/depleted. Not exactly the same scenario but Sirianni did kind of the opposite with Atlanta back in 2024. He kicked the FG to go up 6. Forcing Atlanta to have to score a TD. Assumed they’d have to length of the field to win it with an offense that struggled most of the night. He got grilled cause the analytics said go for the win and the first down that was 3 yards away.

I understand why he did it. Analytics and other factors playing into it. Imo he shouldn’t be ridiculed for that one. He went for the win it’s what Doug would’ve also likely done in 2017. If anything, we want to ridicule him for the 4th down decision in his own territory. i believe the analytics said to punt on that one.

True, but we've also seen Stafford press and make mistakes. It just happened last week vs the Broncos in a game they should've won where Stafford threw an INT.

Nick should be ridiculed for both 4th downs where he went for it. Although I can admit that the tush push on your own (what was it, 40?) was the dumber decision.

I'm just gonna say it now, throw all the GD stats out the window from last Sunday regarding the offense when Hurts had a preseason roster to work with. Come back to me when they have most of their starters there and a semblance of an OL that Mannion can orchestrate his scheme. Each game has been hijacked either by injuries or an OL that featured 1 or 2 guys who need to retire. Or who were MIA. Can't evaluate anything on that merit.

Instead use the stats from the Chicago game?

Ah ok, well, we won with a 13 point lead. It still reinforces my belief that forcing them to need two TD's is the better way to approach it, rather than risking it for 17, or it stays at 10.

It's a completely illogical take. The Rams went onto score 14 points. 13 points would have accomplished absolutely nothing.

The defense is magically going to be more effective with a 13 point lead than a 10 point lead? With the Rams needing to travel substantially less down the field to score? It makes no sense whatsoever. If the game on Sunday played out where the Rams eventually tied the game with a field goal and then went onto win in overtime then you could have something ground to stand on, but that didn't happen. They went onto score 2 TDs and win the game. That is exactly why you go for it on 4th and goal at the 1 and half yard line with a chance to make it into a 3 score game with 7 minutes left.

I wonder if Siri thinks/knows that this is his last year as HC of the Eagles? If I were him, I’d completely back off of the Offense, and, if the ship sinks, he can at least wash his hands of this mess by being a bystander. If he’s heavily involved in the Offensive side of this slop of the team, then that could hinder his chances of getting another HC job. Short term. 🤔🤔🤔

Yes. That's a terrible half. Also lost momentum with a Dalton bone head play and a cheap hit. Got 13 games to go. Need more of a sample size and a healthier roster to fairly evaluate.

If you wanna ridicule him for the one before, I’m 100% for it. That was idiotic to go for it. IMO was him getting caught up in his emotions and probably frustrated with the offense thinking I’m going to get this whether I should or not. And he went for it.

The last one he tried going for the win. I don’t blame him or think it’s ridicule worthy. Especially after the Atlanta game in 2024 where he kind did exactly what you guys wanted him to do by kicking the field goal instead of going for the 1st/touchdown to completely end the game. it backfired on him. Cousins known to make mistakes and defense had played well up until that point. Offense hadn’t looked good most of that game.

You can say, Stafford could make mistakes like earlier in the game or Denver last week. However Denver was MUCH healthier than us. And eagles were healthier in the first half with Q and Greenard out there. Neither were by mid 4th quarter. also point out after he threw the one pick 6, the next drive in that broncos game they went 77 yards on four plays for a TD. Even the last drive in 46 seconds he got them down to the 19 with 2 seconds to potentially win game and needing to throw it in the end zone to win. Imo chance to out stafford/rams down 3 possessions over 2 by getting 2 yards is worth going for

Not that it matters but if the officials didn’t call a BS PI the rams win that game last week in Denver.

It doesn't put Hurts in a good light. So ignore those lol

Okay give Matt Stafford that crappy OL and backups just about everywhere. And Cam Jurgens. 🤣 I could see about 6 sacks and 4 picks. This is a bad game to judge Hurts.

It's like how you guys always want to ignore the games in 2020 before he was named starterlol

Us guys were right in the end. Because he has a Superbowl ring on his finger and should have a second one. Bottom line. The season is young. He needs a full roster just like anyone else, if they go anywhere. Certainly not getting much help from a coaching perspective or the injury situation. It's a team game. On another note, Page evaluated all the 3rd down plays and stated only one of those was his fault. The rest is a comedy of errors with bad individual play ( I.E.Jurgens ) or bad play design.

It's not, because they were only down 10. If they had done it down 13 I would concede the argument, but I like our chances more if they're forced into needing two touchdowns. And yeah, the defense may be more effective because the Rams wouldn't have played as conservative in the red zone. They ran the ball inside the 20 because they were essentially playing not to turn it over.

I bet he would’ve thrown for more than 10 yards tho LOL. Hurts is trash man. He’s a product of our team, not the other way around. He will never elevate the offense, he needs a solid oline, all pro rb/wrs, top TE. Then he’s average at best.

I’d like to close ours this Saturday. We get leaves like a MF’er, plus no one has gotten in it for several weeks. I’m just keeping it clean and running the pump for nothing.

Cool, let’s try it then.

I don't think taking the FG was the wrong call then either. ATL basically scored in 60 seconds. We also got the ball back in that game and we only needed a FG to win, but I think Hurts threw a pick to end it.

Yeah. Like I said yesterday he would be laid out on the field and throwing picks left and right. Threw 2 INTS with a full complement and should have thrown more if we knew how to catch. EOD, a QB needs playmakers to win. We were without our Top 3 and Lane, who when he is out we lose a lot. The rookie gave up a ton of pressures that Lane just doesn't do. Can't play QB running for your life. Saw that with Mahomes in 2 different Superbowls...looked like a rookie in both affairs.

I didn’t think so either. But the amount of people that ridiculed him on here for doing it was outrageous. That said the analytics said to actually go for it. the eagles are an analytics organization. I’m guessing the powers above probably already frustrated with him about end of 2023 got on him about that.

Every game is a game to judge him. He didn't have a good game. He had a bad game. He needs to play better for the team to win.

This is why I agree with Sheil. I don’t think sirianni has the answers to fix the problems. If he did, he would be running his offense and not an entirely different scheme/system. He doesn’t know how to fix it. This goes back to like when we talk about the Phillies with Kevin Long. Is Long the reason why the team isn’t very good at hitting? No the players. However Kevin Long has absolutely no clue how to get through to them and help them fix the problem.

I think Hurts said no to certain things like how that article said last year. It's on Mannion to adapt to what Hurts likes now

As does the rest of the team. I've said he had a bad game. But that does not make a bad season. He pulled out the first 2 games and played well when it mattered. Chicago game was bad from all angles. Defense got manhandled as they normally do against the physical Bears. They are a bad match up for us. And we made Keenum look like Joe Montana. I think they lose that game, if he plays well. Last week is a shidd show once you hear LJ is out, right before tipoff. Noone expected them to win that game beforehand. So we are 2-2, probably where we thought we'd be when the schedule came out. Let's see some adjustments and reinforcements and see where this thing lands.
