I do kind of wonder what impact this will have on the locker room though. Losing a Captain in Lane Johnson and then trading away Jurgens in back to back days could be a bit of a dark cloud. Especially with the past two performances. Jurgens wasn't playing good and wasn't a captain but I imagine he was a respected veteran on the team.

This is where Hurts, Barkley, Smith, and Mailata earn their C's

Did we pick up like $20M in dead cap with the trade?

The net increase is what matters - ~$5mm.

I kind of agree, but overall I'm tired of the "let's give a pass to this guy because he's supposed to be our starter" logic. Cam is forever minted for what he did in 2024, but his performance the past season and four games plummeted. Lane retiring is crushing, but unloading a player that was hurting the team with his play signifies to everyone that they need to play better and no one is exempt from losing their job.

Well the new look OL may or may not be good but no one can accuse them of being old and brittle anymore.

Agreed, but with 2 of those 4 hurt and probably not playing for a week or two, it makes it harder. Dickerson was already saying earlier this week it pissed him off to see Cam have to take his position and struggle, and now he's gone. Mailata and Dickerson are also close.

You do this trade 10 times out of 10. I can just see it causing some ripples amongst the players.

Howie looking at his roster before the trade:

Also, Lane's contract has been extended and restructured so many times, Howie may be the only person in the world that understands it at this point. It's diabolical.

One more thing - they'll get back most of his 2026 option bonus ($21.7mm) and salary ($1.3mm).

Should it come to pass and Hurts removes his NTC, what would a realistic return look like?

This is like Billy Beane trading Carlos Pena - Hatteberg is starting whether you like it or not.

Nick doesn't have to be that bad guy and bench Cam.

Any teams out there want to give Landon a 2nd chance and a change of scenery?

Howie Roseman is the best General Manager in the NFL. He does whatever it takes to help his team win. #football #philadelphiaeagles #eagles #nfl #flyeaglesfly

No more short QBS please for us. Hopefully hes off the boards before we pick then.

Oregon is my college team and I would tell any team to stay away from Dante Moore. I dont think he'll be a good pro QB.

It was only 1 game but Dylan Raiola looked way better than him.

This is like me and Madden when I was like 10 years old where I started making trades in franchise mode when guys got to 29-31 years old. I just traded them way to stockpile on picks.

So salary wise Baltimore is basically paying him vet minimum over the next two years, which would explain how Howie got more than a bag of fish for jurgens, because Howie ate the cost.

Getting a 2nd is totally worth the cost of eating the dead cap.

A conditional 7th. If he throws for 300 yards more than twice in one year. Bump it to a 6th

I was gonna say every time I watch Moore I always wind up thinking this guy is supposed to be a great prospect? He’s good but not as great as he’s made out to be. I don’t think he is anything spectacular. probably gonna grill on this, but every time I watch arch Manning I don’t look at him and be like man he’s a can’t miss prospect. I think he’s kind of overrated cause his last name is manning. I think he’s gonna be good. I just think he’s overrated about how good because his last name is Manning.

So I understand he wasn’t doing well at Guard, but was he doing ok at Center before he got switched to guard? Because I asked AI and it said that’s why the Ravens wanted him, to fill a hole at Center

I like Carr from Notre Dame even though ND qbs always give me pause but that kid can sling it on time.

A few teams last year pointed out their goal was to stop Barkley first and make Hurts beat them with his arm. That should tell you that he won't get a big return if any. The only reason I say it's possible we get nothing is because why would Hurts lift his NTC? No benefit to him since anyone who trades him would be as a backup. He would be smarter to not lift the NTC and force a release. Now realistically "If" it all comes together then I would guess the best case scenario would be a conditional 2nd or 3rd rounder

No. He sucked there too

Dude hasn't been good at center since 2024, his back injury has really sapped his ability, but yeah I cant imagine they ravens play him at guard, hes a center.
