It was one actually.

Nah... It was 2. The penalty was at midfield way away from the play. Eagles got lucky in that part of it, unlucky that JT Jr. was ejected.

2. Not hard to remember how many. They were pretty significant.

He is not counting the first one because of the penalty like I said pretty sure that did not assist the run back, but if I’m wrong, please post the video

By the way, we kicked it to the other guy this time.

You were the one that made the claim that the penalty assisted the run back. They kicked it to the other guy sorry never mind you’re right lol

Occam's razor, what does this guy even do? He doesn't run the offense. He doesn't run the defense. His entire job is clock management, decision making, etc and not does he not do that well he actually gets in the way and F's things up all of the time with bad clock management and decision making. He is a horrible coach.

He organizes the 5 core values. Like the one time he switched fundamentals with smart football in order.

The ref was the one who actually claimed it did. Thats why he threw the flag and erased the return.

OK, here’s a football lesson. The penalty doesn’t have to assist the runner to have to be called a penalty. Even away from the play it is still a penalty so no just because the ref called the penalty doesn’t mean it assisted the runner learn football and then come back. So no the ref did didn’t say it assisted the runner.

Are some of these people for real, I mean, you don’t understand that penalties are called all the time that don’t affect the play I mean are people actually watching football and don’t know this

The only defense this guy has had is that "his team wins”. Well they aren’t doing that now. He doesn’t get them prepared well. He’s not fixing long standing issues. He makes awful in game decisions. He can’t manage the clock. So if he doesn’t win he’s literally doing nothing other than taking the blame.

I’d push back on he doesn’t get them prepared well, somewhat. The last two weeks they were huge underdogs but should have won both games. With everything going on between injuries, retirements, trades and travel, the team showed up to play besides the Bears game and the second half offense. The team could have quit on him but I don’t see a team that did, yet.

I think that’s more on the defense and Fangio the offense is just brutal. part of that is because injuries. But I don’t see how anyone can defend his clock management.

I was being sarcastic with you cranky nerds. I was the guy during the game explaining to people that Jalen Carter wasn’t being held because you don’t get called for holding when a defender tries to beat your block with a rip move. I know how penalties work.

Good lord, man.

I’m not sure he’s ever actually learning lessons from his coaching mistakes. That’s the point. He might know that today while talking at a podium. Will he remember this lesson when the game clock is running?

Depends on what the lesson is. If they’re in that position again should they not throw the ball? I’m not so sure. I mean maybe just running it was a better option but there was a decent chance they’d lose yardage in any run and Elliott over the past few years has been pretty bad outside of 50 yards. I can’t blame him for wanting to get a little closer, I think the players screwed up. And if he can’t trust his players to do the right thing they’re screwed to begin with.

Ok, but there are enough idiots here, no need to impersonate one

QB sneak, kneel down, it is not pass or hand off, If you don't trust your kicker to make a 49 or 50 yard field goal then that is a big problem

I don’t mind throwing it, Hurts and Lemon messed up. They have to not be idiots and get down. Also when they started throwing the ball it was already a 50+ yarder at that point. If they lost any yardage we’d be talking 55+

The right series would have been:

Tush Push - limited risk of losing significant yardage. Probably pick up a yard

Throw

Run if clock is stopped

You just cant have 2 clock stoppage plays from there

I also agree that Lemon messed up there. And the coaches / Hurts / senior players should have made the message very clear on 2nd down to get down

On his next job, he could teach the 5 Ds of dodgeball. Dodge, duck, dip, dive and ... dodge.

I agree with this. You have to let the season play out.

I didn't expect the Eagles to keep either game close but they were right in both of them. I also don't think the 2nd 4th down call form Nick was bad (1st one was awful) vs Rams

Jags game there were a lot of bad decisions and back-to-back bad late game ones where I would say Nick's decisions led to the L (clock mismanagement, not being clear to get down after catch, kicking-off). Just cant have that.

I think the risk of him losing the team is getting higher each week but like you, I don't see that yet.

Just remember — it’s harder to complete a 15-yard pass and step out of bounds than return a kickoff 50+ yards

You're making the point about the penalty flag to minimize the very real risk of them getting a massive kick return (which then actually happened). We're not stupid, man.

As a coach, flag or no flag, knowing my best gunner got ejected and seeing them return one for a touchdown would absolutely factor into my decision making.

This is the same freaking conversation we have every week about analytics. They are great, but they exist in a vacuum.

You have to take the analytics and then compare it to what you're actually seeing on the field.

Yes, an "average team" may do X, Y, Z. But just like the 4th down calls, when half your starters are missing, you're no longer an "average team" and you have to take that into account.

Again, it's called coaching. And I'm still waiting on Nick to justify his position of Head Coach by actually doing something to give the team an edge

You are living in a dream world Neo, of a play that happened because of a hold. I have the facts of the actual kick returns, the yardage gained, and how it was less than the league average, and less than what the Eagles allowed in the first 4 games. You just need to take the L and move on.

So you wanted Hurts to take a sack on 1st down to get knocked out of field goal range??? There was no hot read on a zero blitz. So he should have been sacked and cost them the FG?

Be serious please.

He could have audibled? Called a hot route? That's right, he doesn't so why wouldn't every DC in the league blitz in that situation.

There are just SOOOO many questions about this team right now. There isn't time to get into all of them.
