That’s crazy close to being a catch vs out of bounds. I could see it going either way

There are plenty of people to replace him. You could have picked any limey in that stadium and they would have managed the clock better.

We need some random professional Madden player to be on the payroll. I guarantee he would understand game theory and clock management better.

I should also add that Nick and Co. should have had this discussion with Hurts on the sideline while the defense was still on the field.

It was a colossal error by the coaching staff IF this wasn’t clearly explained ahead of time and during the ensuing drive.

Yeah.... and if the QB goes off script? Or has one of his typical brain fart moments on the field? Again it would be great to see if Siri took issue with anything that was happening. You dont know that the discussion did not happen. No one knows how much autonomy the QB had. Was supposed to have, or not. What liberties he took on his own (or not). What discussions too place....

All we know is Nick will say it was all his fault in the media and fans will eat that up because its what they want to believe, and have for years.

I addressed some of it in the post you responded to. Ive also typed more in detail about it in previous seasons when people wanted Nick fired because Hurts sucks. My answer is still the same. Id LOVE to see him work without being handcuffed to Hurts. Im not saying he would be perfect. But I think he is a heck of a lot better than people assume. A lot of what he is blamed for may or may not even really be his doing.

I think Sirianni sucks and makes inconsistent decisions because he has no true feelings for the game or embraces analytics enough, but he gets killed for things he’s right about that end up not working. Just look at going for it last week at the 2 instead of kicking a FG to go up 13. And of course the kickoff return yesterday, which at worst was a 50-50 call.

Yeah. I take far greater issue with the preceding drive and thats what Ive been talking about. Id love to have answers because I have many questions on what transpired there and who was responsible for various decisions there. It may have been Siri, and Id be fully on board to bash him for it. But I think its wrong to go at him so hard based on 100% assumptions which is all anyone has even though, its very conceivably the QBs part of the game.

Seeing Allen run around for first downs. Wish our qb would run.

How about now?

He's such a dumb ass

Josh Allen looking like Carson Wentz out there playing hero ball.

Stupid play but you live with that with him.

I was literally thinking this earlier. I haven't played Madden in 10 years, but they used to have the game modes where you could set up what's situation you wanted.

Just assign Nick homework every week, he has to call the plays and his son plays the game.

Stafford may be showing his age. He hasn’t looked good in any game outside of the Gmen game

The Bills have absolutely had to live with it, that's for sure

Needed ~ 20 from Allen in FF and the fool is not going to get it. Atleast this horrid weekend of football is over. Until next weekend :)

The fact that the Rams are one of the NFL's elite teams over the past few seasons tells you everything about the state of the league lately. Stinks.

The fact that Allen is one of the elite QBs rather than on the level of a very talented but mistake prone Mark Bulger type tells you everything about the state of QBing in the league, which explains my initial statement.

The fact that you feel you need to bash that QB to try to prop Hurts up shows you how much you need the bar lowered to credit your favorite terrible QB.

Although the Allen/Bulger comp was harsh, in reality Josh Allen is worlds better than Jalen Hurts as a passer, and currently also the far better runner too.

Liam Coen should send Sirianni an edible arraignment because his decision of not calling a timeout right away and instead letting almost 20 seconds tick off at the end of the game was the dumber decision of the whole game

You’re prob one of the hurts diehards who think he’s better than Allen, aren’t you?

Josh Allen is such a dope. I’m glad we don’t have to live with that and instead have Hurts

I like Coen a lot. He’s usually a very good schemer and play caller. That was one of the worst games I’ve seen him manage and call in the last year and a half. Believe he’s 17-5 in his last 22 so normally he’s good. Their 4th and 1 at the end of the half to do an end around with backup RB as the main lead blocker was idiotic.

Also when they kept getting backed up with penalties and it was 4th and goal at the 5, I thought he should’ve kicked it. Would’ve been 14-13 7 mins left. The Eagles offense hadn’t shown they could consistently move the ball or remotely run ball in the second half. Was enough time (7 mins left) that you were going get the ball back. So if you forced a stop then had a chance to take the lead next possession on a FG. I know the analytics say to go for it there, but the routinely were bad in the red zone and that end of the field with the fans was giving them issues

I know, who wants to have someone that plays in the 3rd quarter all the time.

Pinning the Rams loss on Siri is just silly. He did make a dope decision in that one too (was the earlier 4th down) but ultimately the D / refs bailed him out and it didn't change the outcome at all as the Rams didn't convert on 4th either after blindside block penalty.

The Jags game was different. Compounding of bad decisions and bad clock management at the end of game by the coaches and players. I pin that on Siri for mismanaging / not making the point clearly to his players

The Nick Sirianni hate from some of you has gone overboard.

Little known fact…I don’t like Siri any more than I like Hurts. The fact that my posting history strongly suggests otherwise is merely a reflection of which faction here I have a lower opinion of.

No one is calling Hurts a horrible qb, a clown, or an idiot. It’s just as hard to figure out what Hurts does well as it is Siri right now.

Both of these guys have been to 2 SBs here, won 1, and righted a lot of leaking ships. And yea…it hasn’t passed the eye test for either one in the process. But if Hurts gets to get called a winner despite looking bad, so does the head freaking coach. I support dumping both moving forward, but show a little respect for the past.
