January 3, 20241 yr Same as me. I just can't get excited for films like the Marvels. There is no excitement attached anymore, just feels like content for D+ than an event

There is no excitement attached anymore, just feels like content for D+ than an event I agree. Before there were a lot of films to keep up with that tied it all together. Now there is so much more content. Plus that content is either not as good or just not as new and different and so it’s become just a little boring. And there’s so much that I just don’t know how they knit that all together whilst making us really care about a lot of the characters.
January 15, 20241 yr It's a fair comment, especially with recent efforts rather muddying the waters of quality from Disney and the perception of him when he became Iron Man initially.

January 21, 20241 yr I didn’t hate Echo. Yeah, it was more Yaas queen gurrrl power fare, but I found it interesting enough. It was at least better than some recent shows like Ahsoka. They were smart to keep the episodes fairly short and the story pretty tight. The final showdown with kingpin was anticlimactic though.
January 22, 20241 yr The Girl Boss stuff is very much overdone and that does affect the perception of any program that sits within the MCU now, especially where there is a woman in the lead role. I just don't bother and I guess a lot of people are the same. As an aside,I didn't realise the Echo actress was hired from an Amazon Warehouse for the part.

Spoiler mayor fisk should be a fun ride.
January 23, 20241 yr If done correctly, I think that would be a nice change of pace and D'Onofrio will be as good as usual. Can Disney do it? If they hired the Netflix team, yes, otherwise, not so sure. It will be interesting to see how the below fits into that Spoiler The Daredevil new series. The scrapped one killed Karen and Foggy off screen, which would have sucked badly.
January 26, 20241 yr Honest Trailers hitting the mark again Did they really steal the plot of Space Balls for that film?
January 26, 20241 yr Haven't seen Marvels yet, will watch on Disney+ next month. I did watch Echo. Ugh. Pitch meeting nails it, but there was even more to make fun of he left out.

February 9, 20241 yr The Marvels - Holy ish. A singing planet? For realz? Someone actually thought this was a good idea for a superhero movie? Was that misogynistic?
February 9, 20241 yr A singing planet is peak modern Marvel. Something the audience didn't want or ask for, but they decided to go ahead with it and do not have the self awareness to make it a deleted scene after all the reshoots they did.
February 10, 20241 yr Saw it last night with the kids, might've been a decent movie if not for one of the worst villains I've seen in any movie ever. Long gone are the days of Ronin and Thanos, this clown was an absolute joke in comparison.
February 10, 20241 yr Yeah, Marvels was terrible. All the cats along with the actual song from the Cats Broadway show, the singing planet (Thor Love & Thunder vibes), bringing the Khan family into space to "keep them safe" and other stupid things. Just cringe. Did that villain have the power stone? Danvers can destroy ships & handle Thanos with all the stones but not this villain? How are the Skrulls in this separate from the ones in Secret Invasion where supposedly they were the only ones left? The writing is all over the place.
