Meh - it wouldn’t matter who the pick was the pressure would be the same.  If Smith looks better than Waddle then he will be fine.

As a player, he's got the tools.  My concern for him is his frame.  Can he hold up in the NFL?  Has any WR his size ever lasted?  I don't know.

 

I'm giving Howie an "I" for the first round, because while we do need better WR play, we need that WR to be healthy.  Hopefully, he can stay healthy in the NFL.

I think they were looking at it as already having so many assets next year that they needed to add a blue chip guy this year.

I said this in a previous post, but with Howie’s ability to trade and work the board (say what you will about the guy, he’s elite in this regard) I wonder if we could have traded back up from 20?

We’ll see how Smith turns out, if he’s great then passing on that trade was alright, but if he gets broken or our QB can’t get him the ball, that trade would of been nice.  Next years draft will be much better than this years, especially having 4 possible first round picks.

The best thing about getting Devonta Smith: will make it easier to evaluate Hurts and will be a weapon for whatever QB we use in 2022.

I feel dirty saying this, but...

Howie did well. Now need a corner in round 2. Hope Samuel Jr. lasts.

20, keep our 3rd, give up a 5, ANOTHER 1st next year

That Chicago pick next year is going to be a high one...Giants got more value going from 11 to 20 than we did from 6 to 12.

Hate what we did. I have no problem with Smith, just hate giving up #84. Talked about getting younger thru the draft and we gave up a premium pick. Smh.
