I said this in a previous post, but with Howie’s ability to trade and work the board (say what you will about the guy, he’s elite in this regard) I wonder if we could have traded back up from 20?

He just overpaid to move up 2 spots.   Should have at least pushed to get a late round pick back from Dallas.

Like I said, Howie had to play it by ear. He had the first five figured out, which is why he was willing to trade out of #6.

But Denver takes Surtain, uh oh, couldn't trade down to Chicago until after Dallas and NYG picked, which means no Smith, at best Bateman or Marshall, which is Reagor redux, talented player with flaws who is higher risk.

Smith was a risk at #6, but at #10, worth the 3rd after you pick up the 4th and the 2022 1st.

Sure Waddle is more explosive, Chase is full sized, all Smith does is beat the best corners in this draft on a regular basis.

I'm giving Howie an "I" for the first round, because while we do need better WR play, we need that WR to be healthy.  Hopefully, he can stay healthy in the NFL.

But if he can.. if he stays healthy.. this a slam dunk pick. This guy has overcome his size at every step of the way. He’s as pure a WR as there ever was. He’s got the mental makeup. You can’t coach what he’s got. If he can keep from taking big hits, he’s as good a WR as I’ve ever seen

That’s assuming no one takes the deal ahead of us. More realistic is we give up our third to move to 10 then trade down. Still take that deal.

I don't get Parsons to Dallas.  They have so much invested into LB.  The polar opposite of the Eagles. 

Oh well.  Not losing sleep over that one.
