I actually think taking a running back at the end of the first round isn’t all that crazy. Reid did it with CEH. You get four of his best years and then you get a fifth year option on him to get him for at least five years which are probably going to be his best five years. then you could just franchise him for a year and get 6 good years out of him then let him walk away. I get six years is not a decade but if you get six great years out of him and then he signs elsewhere and you get a comp pick it back for him that’s not bad.

That's not relevant to the point you were trying to make which is this somehow indicates the Giants were targeting Smith.  

Now whether Smith - 83 is better than what the Giants got is a different question and one I think is more fairly open for debate than whether the Giants were going to take Smith at 11.

Everything I have heard about him on Sirius Xm from people that have been around Smith is that he is all about football, all the time.  They said not only is Smith like Harrison in his play on the field but in his dedication to the game.  I just see it in this guy and am happy he is wearing the midnight green.

Not really.  Ward, Scott, and Reagor were pretty good last year. Fulgham wasn’t bad. Goedert had some issues as did Ertz but Wentz’s placement was bad. 

I see the reagor thing as he is moving away from social media since it clearly does affect him. So his only tweets going forward may just be things like we saw tonight.
