He’s a year younger, more explosive, was ranked higher by scouts before the season, and actually went earlier in the draft.

Smith may be the better pro too.  He was better in college.  But it’s not crazy to value Waddle higher.

Good pick by the Steelers.  I hope we get a 2nd good RB to pair with Sanders.  

Smith will be a swiss army knife for Sirianni.

I'm not sure why fans would want anything less.

He and smith can be dynamic together and drafting smith will take a lot of pressure off him on the field and off it 

Question now is if hurts can get them the ball, if not doesn't really matter.

They were going too but howie managed to beat him with old dependable rock and sirianni went with paper

So, the way I see it, they landed their target.  It's not my perfect outcome, but it is a pick that you can't be upset with.   Their target last year was Reagor over Jefferson, that was a mistake and there's no way to get around that, but the reality is that Smith is a good player, best player on the board at the time, just not the move I would have made.  But, I do look forward to seeing him on the field.

I’m just glad that we don’t have Doug’s sluggish, train wreck offense anymore where I can actually get excited about a guy game-planning and scheming with Reagor and Smith on this team with the hope that Hightower and/or Watkins takes the next step as well.
