The problem with Dickerson is he's a big IF.  Round 2 isn't the place to be taking ifs.  Round 3 isn't either.  I want to gamble in the 4th and lower.  

ABC ran a graphic of the amount of 2nd and 3rd round picks starting in the AFC-NFC Championship games. I know Dickerson COULD be a starter but there's a huge IF involved.

2021 round 2- Landon Dickerson shouldn't see the field even if he is healthy.  

2020 round 2- Jalen Hurts, backup quarterback.  I'm not considering this a good pick.  Changed the fate of the franchise.  Who knows what happens if Howie takes Chinn.

2020 round 3- Davion Taylor.  total project, at best ST ace and situational linebacker

2019 round 2- JJAW.  Nothing needs to be said.

2019 round 2- Miles Sanders.  Good pick

2019 round 3- none

2018 round 2- Dallas Goedert.  At the time drafted behind Ertz in his prime.  3 years later and he's still a backup.  I'll call him the starter when Ertz is gone

2018 round 3- none

2017 round 2- Sidney Jones. HUGE risk.  1 game as a rookie, we know the rest

2017 round 3- Rasul Douglas.  Backup CB spot starter.  Gone after 3 years.

2016 round 2- none

2016 round 3- Isaac Seumalo.  Solid starter

 

That is not good drafting for the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

I don't ever recall any significant player for pick trades during the draft...kinda puts both teams in a bind if no physicals can be accomplished.

He’ll do well in Pittsburgh.

As soon as I posted I remembered Ertz. Forgot about him with all the trade speculation.

And I agree on QBs... they are completely different.  You are either ALL IN or you are OUT.  No middle ground, no mitigating risk there.  You put your chips in the center of the table with the guy and sink or swim with him.   That's the polar opposite of the injury risk move, which is why guys with medical red flags always slip in the draft, and why QBs always are overdrafted due to their actual talent.
