The injuries are the only concern with this kid.  And its because of the injuries that I didn't consider him a 2nd round pick, especially not a top of the 2nd round pick.  Ultimately, he has all the talent in the world.  But, if he can't stay on the field, that's sort of irrelevant, isn't it?

There were lots of options in each of those drafts that they could have gone with rather than risky picks, or risk averse?  In this draft there were still a ton of options for them to add talent without the caveat of 'if he can get healthy'.  This isn't about staying healthy for Dickerson, its about getting healthy, something that he has yet to prove he could do at the collegiate level.  Why would we expect that he could do it in the NFL, when he couldn't do it once in the NCAA?  

None of the options available at 37 have as high an upside as Dickerson. So it's not like they made a lateral nice talent wise but took the injury risk on. So yes if they went another way they were trading less risk for less reward.

The irony is that some of same fans criticizing the Eagles for taking a "top tier" guy at his position (despite some medical concerns) in the 2nd round are some the same people that have bashed the team (non stop) for not taking a "risk" on DK Metcalf in the 2nd round.   Funny how that works.
