Thousands of sexual assaults go un reported every year, some victims don't want to be called liars, some victims feel a sense of shame and embarrassment and may feel they are at fault. Some don't want the undue negative attention/stigma it may bring to them or their families.

Like people online putting molested in quotes and what that implies.😒

Funny how they came out with their stories when they found out they could make money. That's the point, they still never went to the cops they sued. If he is a molester he should be in jail, right?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I think this may be about comments Sirianni made about QBs competing or some such coach speak.

So you think the owner of the Texans is paying a lawyer to frame Watson for sexual misconduct that, if he is found civilly liable for, may have significant impact on his playing time on the field?

Knowing what I do of the lawyer involved, I suspect a masseuse sought him out, possibly for a real incident or perceived suit opportunity (you and I both know some plaintiffs are opportunists).  He then got the word out, or possibly advertised for other masseuses that had contact with Watson.  Again, maybe a real incident in there and possibly and probably some that had no contact beyond the massage and he is capitalizing on trying to make numbers into a settlement. I suspect that some contacted him for opportunity after he announced the suit. I am not saying he is encouraging out and out fraud versus packaging the group and message to maximize return way past what is actionable and probably trying to obfuscate the truth as much as possible.

His competition is no slouch. But the neighbor and friend status between the plaintiff lawyer and McNair is a curiosity, the sort of curiosity that plaintiff lawyer would likely manipulate and the sort that Rusty Hardin likely will. He has a pretty good record of success.

Now, it wouldn’t surprise me if Watson felt out the masseuses to see if they limited their services or operated like some "massage parlors”.  But I wonder if it went past a query unless the answer was yes, the masseuse had an "expanded menu”.

When victims of sexual assault report crimes they face more risk of punishment than those they accused.   Even if all of them went to the police there is a high likelihood the police would have done very little to investigate.  I mean the statistics are pretty telling.  https://www.rainn.org/statistics/criminal-justice-system

Sadly, this is true from a few victims I know.

Watson most likely did what he was accused of. Multiple people have accused of him similar things. They put their names on it, so if they were lying they could be counter-sued. It's also not in the Texans' best interest to put a hit out on their QB, as they could have traded Watson this off-season for 3+ 1st rounders. Now if he gets suspended, they'll get significantly less.

At the same time, Lurie will absolutely do this. He took a chance on Vick. He loves QBs. He'll just make sure Watson goes on a PR tour.

Countersued?  They let their lawyer do the talking and lawyers are pretty shielded from libel or slander.

I am not going to presume anything but I don't think you commence any type of litigation unless you have some clear path to recovery.  It's just not affordable to prosecute civil lawsuits that don't either have a certain recovery or a high reward in terms of payout.  He is likely to incur, not including staff and attorney salaries, six figures in costs to pursue these claims.  Now at a certain point he may view more claims as adding credibility and is not adequately scrutinizing claims.

Suffice to say, there will be inconsistencies that are brought to light about the claims.  I also expect there's evidence beyond just testimony that will support the claims.

It's easier to prove guilt in civil court rather than criminal court, and in a civil court most the time victims aren't going to take the stand and be cross examined or scrutinized.

It's an unfortunate bi product of our current legal system that doesn't always treat the victims of crime fairly.

It's an unfortunate side effect of our criminal judicial system.

I mean, if we had to play one game against aliens for all of mankind, and all in their primes:

Yeah. I'm missing outside shooting. But that team would never be stopped, and they can all defend.

Just a point on Tebow.  He has been been in professional sport for 5 years after his last NFL stint, so regardless of the usual side show that comes with him, it's at least conceivable to transition back to the NFL. Kaepernick has been effectively on his couch with a few show pony workouts to kid the believers that he still wants it.

If anyone wants it, they will do anything to come back.  Lane Johnson played on a bum ankle last year for his team. Kelce played with a badly injured elbow.  Would Kaepernick do that?  Can't say I think he would.  He cares more about Twitter and Insta.

I'd sub Magic for Curry. Lose some defense, but it wouldn't matter with how far he could shoot from the outside.

I see the rationale for the shooting, but...I loathe Steph Curry.

He and Cam Newton top the list of overrated athletes I'd love to punch in the face (non-Cowboys edition).

Just curious, how is the best shooter of all time overrated?  I can see why you don't like his personality but I am curious to hear your thoughts?

Curry has won multiple championships Newton has not so not sure I can see the case for overrated.

If one were to make a case for overrated player on that warriors championship run would definitely be Draymond Green.

Not only is he only an average player he's also a top notch d bag.

Scam Newton was a quitter and a loser.

After his Super Bowl mishap, he should have a my little pony shirt under his shirt, not Superman.

Guys talking about him being a top 5 or 10 player of all time -- that is nuts. He's a great shooter. But he's also a massive defensive liability who comes up very small in the clutch. This is obviously hyperbole, but I sometimes call him "Craig Hodges with a handle."

Top 5 PG of all time? Yes (Magic, Isiah, Stockton, etc.). Top 10 player all time? No effing way.

He’s the one i can’t stand on that warriors team. He runs his mouth like he was the best player or even second best player during those championships runs. Legitimate before KD got there he was the 3rd best player and when KD was there the 4th but runs his mouth like he’s as good as curry and KD.

i don’t love the warriors. But i can at least respect curry and Klay Thompson. Fascinating that the warriors nearly gave up on curry due to his ankle issues. He was nearly dealt to Milwaukee but last minute Milwaukee pulled out of the deal. They’d have Giannis and curry right now if they didn’t

From that perspective, I would agree.  Whoever said top 10 of all time is smoking something.  Top 10 scorer of all time, maybe.

This is my point. Curry is great. Curry is not on the same level as KD. He's a hall of famer, all-star, etc. He is not an all time great.
