I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

If Reagor ran a 4.47 at 207, what would he run at 191? That’s a big difference in weight.

That is about what he weighed at TCU his last year , between him and Smith , eagles might have lightest  top 2 receivers in the NFL

4.27

Reagor hit 22.6 mph with the ball in his hands at TCU. That’s what DK Metcalf hit when he chased down Budda Baker. Tyreek Hill’s fastest mph is 22.8 when he chased down Damien Williams on a long TD.

4.22 and 4.28 , That is what he ran at his proday , at 197

DK’s 40 was 4.33 at the combine.

Allegedly...

I don’t care about the special teams potential of Watkins or Hightower. I’m explaining to you that they’re on the 53 as developmental guys that they see with some upside. You’re making this far more convoluted than it needs to be. If you’re not a starter or key contributor, you better have some upside or be a special teams player. Once Ward loses his spot as a PR (hopefully this year), he will no longer be a special teamer based on his previous usage, and he doesn’t have any upside.

Sigh. Did you read the article?

Ward doesn't need to a PR to be able to contribute on special teams.

Also he has more value as a 4th or 5th WR on this roster than someone like Hightower who is a body catcher and can't be depended on at all.  If Ward needs to step in for a few games you can depend on him because he will catch the ball when you throw to him no matter how big the moment.  He is a the leader of that WR group.  There is value to players like him on a team in a locker room that is better than Hightower who is basically Sheldon Gibson with a different coat of paint.

A backup slot receiver on a team that wants their WRs to be interchangeable doesn’t seem particularly useful, but sure, there’s some small value in having him as a depth guy.

You say he doesn’t have to be a PR to contribute on ST, but has he actually played special teams aside from PR?

He played all over at WR over the past two years.  He is best in the slot but he isn't only capable of playing in the slot.  They could stick him at gunner on punts, they can have him on kick coverage.  He's a guy that will do whatever the team asks of him.  He has way more value to this team than someone like JJAW or Hightower.  If the team gets hit by a run of injuries again this offense will be a lot worse if it has to turn to one of those two instead of being able to turn to Ward.

Ward can line up at other WR positions, but that’s not the same as being useful at those positions. Avant himself said he can’t play on the outside.

And sure, Ward in theory can do the same on special teams. That doesn’t mean he is good enough to do it. It’s not that simple.

I’m just saying.  And yes.

As I’ve said before, I’m more hopeful for Reagor than most.

Not that it’s a particularly important position in the current NFL, but I would have used Hightower on KR last season instead of Boston Scott.  Scott has as about as much chance of breaking a KR as Ward does breaking a PR.

This isn't true. JJAW can play the H back role, and is probably the best option for the team at that position right now. We used the H back a lot last year, and the Colts use it a lot in their offense.

The only way I can see Ward sticking is if there's an injury or if Watkins or Hightower is simply awful. He got us through some lean times, but his value is almost all on being able to convert short yardage third downs, something Smith will now be asked to do.

That’s an awful thing to say.  Ward can carry Hurts’ luggage and equipment around — that’s invaluable

As much as I bag on Ward, I think he makes the team and can serve as some form of veteran presence. By next year we shouldn’t need him anymore.

My other football team did well today

Fact is we have seen Ward come, do just that and due to that play a big part in our team turning it around and making the playoffs down the stretch in 2020.   He is vastly more valuable to this team to remain on the roster than guys like JJAW and Hightower.

Just as teams focused on Ertz in 2019 in those 3rd down situations they will focus on Smith as he quickly establishes himself as the best WR on the team.  There is so much more value in a guy who can be counted on to consistently catch the ball no matter the situation than there is on guys like JJAW and Hightower who cannot be realistically counted on to catch the ball in any given situation. JJAW is God awful, how much more do you need to see form him before you realize how completely useless he is?

Too many people here have delusions that everyone on the roster needs to have star potential or they don't have any use at all.

For the past 2 seasons, Greg Ward's snaps have been there to be taken by others.  If other players are incapable of doing that, it's not his fault. It's on the FO and Coaching Staff.

Popcorn to Westbrook. Stat

The Eagles WR woes are a direct result of flushing money into Jeffery and Jackson — Mr. Vacation and Mr. Infirmary

Yup.  He has stayed healthy, they have not.  If JJAW and others can't beat him out, that's not his fault.
