Is Harris under contract?

He might take the DB job here if he thinks Gannon is HC material, spend a year or two under his tutelage and then replace him.

I like it.

so co-DC's just to get the draft picks?

Draft picks?

1- The team giving up the coach gets the picks, not the team signing the promoted coach. So the Redskins would get the picks

2- Its only if a Minority is promoted to GM or HC, So Redskins dont get crap

Position coaches usually sign 2 year deals so he’s probably under contract still

So Tommy threw out Mike Caldwell as a potential DC.  Interesting but a coach that has primarily coached inside linebackers may need to expand his level of experience to take that step.

He’s got more experience than Harris, and he’s getting interviewed now.   I wonder if this  means Siriani isn’t allowed to pick anyone on his staff, or even be in on the interview.

It may well be they're filling assistant slots but also doing due diligence b/c when you hire a hot coach as your DC, and he does well, he's destined to be your former DC in a couple years

Stafford in New Orleans would be tough for the rest of the NFC.

I’d agree but their cap situation is a mess if i remember correctly. So I’m curious to see how they get it done and what their roster looks like after getting below the cap.

Yeah, I don't see it happening, but it would be a very good combination.

Don't know anything about the guy. But from reading on here people seem excited to have him as a DC.

So does that mean they wont be asking for a kings ransom?

Texans may be in need for a new QB

If Gannon's the guy, what's the interview for with Harris? Co DC?

New Rooney rule requirements.  Have to interview at least one external minority candidate for coordinator positions.

I read Watson wants to go Jets (god knows why) or Dolphins. Although I guess he didn't really have a say.

This is exactly why the rule is sort of pointless. Interviewing someone after you've already got your guy just to check a box.

well then there no incentive to hire a minority coach anyway. what the hell?

So with this I'm assuming this means no change to the front? Still a 4-3?

Is that what they run in Indy I'm guessing? We also don't have any LBs for a 3-4

Correct, its only to give incentive to teams to build staff around minorities in the FO and Coaching to one day hope they get a promotion to the big job.

If it was 1 year earlier we would have received (2) 3rd rounders for Andrew Berry getting the Browns GM position.

Reading he was "the guy" to get for DC.

He'd make a lot of money with Jets but may not win many games. He has a no trade clause and a right to not report so he has all of the power
