FYI - you are the ONLY poster I have ever considered blocking.

Go for it.

Be better. Not caring or feeling sympathy for someone who dies is not the same thing as celebrating his/her death. With a very few exceptions (e.g., Hitler, Bin Laden, Jerry Jones), there's no reason to celebrate a person's death.

I will mourn Jerry. I hope he owns the Cowboys another 50 years. Same with Snyder

Yeah, it looks like Phil Valentine isn't going to make it too. It's so damn senseless.

Too late for this one, I am afraid.

If he had asthma he should have got the vaccine.  Don't care what shape you're in.  A disease that attacks the respiratory system should probably be defended against.

Sure, but everyone should get the vaccine unless they're in the very small subset who can't for medical reasons.  And saying he had no underlying conditions and also saying he had asthma are at odds, so one of those statements isn't true.

Ok. Fine. Still he got what he deserved.

Oh, and by the way, I guess no Trumplicans were overjoyed when RBG died.

So you want to equalize your morality and ethics with people you clearly despise?

Mississippi has 6 vacant ICU beds, in the entire state. These doctors and nurses are over worked and hanging on by a thread. Something has to be done. But I know, a mask mandate is communism.

STOP. PAYING. FOR. CARE. FOR. THE. UNVACCINATED.

We utterly refuse to embrace the most effective option.

We all know that's a non starter. I agree in principle, but it's not pragmatic. And vaccine mandates take time for the effect on limiting transmission to take hold. It's too late for that now. The governor needs to institute a mask mandate immediately.

Correct. Not mourning a terrible person? Fine. However, let's not cheer when they die. We're all better than that.

Obviously not all.

Staring 10/1/21, Medicare and Medicaid will no longer pay for COVID care for people who are eligible to get the COVID vaccine and have not received at least the first dose. The Federal Government will indemnify private insurers who institute the same policy.

Vaccination rates will be 90%. It's not being done because politicians refuse to lead and make hard choices. It's wrong when the GOP does it, and it's also wrong when the left does it. Enabling morons leads to more morons.

Agreed completely with everything you said, but if you're the governor of Mississippi, none of this helps with the situation they are in right now. With hospitals already being overrun, they are past the point where vaccine mandates can stem the bleeding from the current crisis. They have no choice but to take swift action or to let people, including many without covid, be neglected of critical care and needlessly die. That they got to this point without taking vaccine compliance seriously is one thing, but now that they're here, they can't just sit on their hands and do nothing. Even though that's exactly what it seems like they're doing.

You need to do...BOTH. Bring back mask mandates for a short time, but then do what I am suggesting to put an end to this. Create a vaccine passport and make it easier for businesses to start demanding proof of vaccination. Have TSA start demanding it to board airplanes.

It's not an either/or situation.

When did Vikas become an authoritarian?

Damn, dude.

I'm referring to the state governor specifically in this context, but yes collectively at both levels of government we need to take these actions. I'm not trying to frame it as an either/or situation.

Look what happened with the eviction moratorium.  There will be no appetite for saddling millions of minorities with more debt or giving them even more reason to avoid seeking medical care.

In Zuke’s mind the problem is the 10 million unvaccinated black people, not the 40 million Trump supporters who refuse to get vaccinated because of "muh freedumbs”

My mind is focused on reality. If it was just Trump supporters, you all would gladly go through with Vikas plan. It’s not though. Not even close.

You have no Constitutional Right to Medicare/Medicaid.

Government can't force you to get a shot, but they don't have to pay for you.

I would still go through with it, 100%. I don't care about the demographics when it comes to someone's actions endangering others. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

You're focused on blaming minorities.  I haven't seen you mention the 40 million Trump supporters who have refused the vaccine.
