Charles just said it...... Embiid is distracted by the MVP

Well no ish.  We all knew that was going to happen.  It’s on the head coach and the other "star” on the team to lift everyone else.  The whole team is just sleep walking.  I’m sure Glenn has something brilliant in mind.  Because he’s getting owned, again.

He didn’t look distracted when he dove into the seats for a loose ball. He’s not playing great, but other guys need to step up. There are shots to be made.

Couldn’t be his broken face or torn ligament in his thumb. Def just because he didn’t win mvp.

Joel is definitely the kind of guy to let that bother him.  Of course his injuries have an effect.  But they didn’t just happen and he’s worse tonight.  He could come out and have a huge 3rd.  He is needs to.

Hamstring must be bothering him

Maxey just can’t hit anything tonight.

Also love how Tucker is allowed to do his best Jason Kelce impression and just bulldoze guys to clear the paint out. Totally not a foul.

Yeah.  My guy not having a good night.  This team looks like it has quit.

how do we get boo-boo face embiid in f'n game 5? that's not motivation enough?

the other night my biggest worry with this team is they lack urgency and energy at times. Saw it in the Toronto series. Played fantastic the first two games. Third game they found it in the third quarter. But then the next two games they got complacent and lacked urgency/energy. Then finally found it again in game 6 to put the raptors away. I’m really not surprised this team after two big wins is looking the way they are tonight. And i wouldn’t be shocked if game 6 it’s completely different.

That was a big 3 at the end of the 3rd for Maxey. Use it as momentum and make a run. Harden has been atrocious.

yeah...that's a lack of leadership.  you don't take games off during the playoffs.

Wrong!

yeah...this one's over.

Just put in Korkmaz and let him start launching. Maybe they get lucky and he has one of his uncharacteristic hot shooting nights.

This squad was ready to play tonite.

F this ish man. So disheartening.

Part of the story. Glenn is also a coach that’s always had this issue with his teams since leaving the Celtics. When this is a consistent issue with multiple of his teams then part of it falls on him. He also has made very little  adjustments in this series besides just getting embiid back. he got embiid back. Really Miami  missed good looks in game 4. Tyler Herro missed at least 4-5 open shots. The difference tonight is Miami is actually hitting those shots at home.

some of this is embiid has been solid in the first two games back in this series. Not what he was prior to the fracture. but tonight he needed to be mvp form and he didn’t or perhaps can’t be that guy with the mask and thumb.

There’s also the aspect we are relying on a 21 year old kid to be our second best player behind embiid. It really should be routinely James harden. But he’s erratic game to game so it’s more pressure on maxey to have to step up. In the playoffs it’s rare you see 21 year olds having to play as big of a role and counted on as much as he is for the sixers in order to win.

lastly one of the reasons why the deeper this series went the more concern you had for the sixers starters is that Miami is deep. The sixers continuously have to play their starters 37-43 mins a night. It’ll eventually catch up to you if you are getting lousy mins out of your bench. So by game 6 and 7,  the likelihood is the sixers begin to wear down and the heat are fine due to their depth.

Losers.  They don’t have the mentality to win big games

Besides harden, embiid and maxey being what they are tonight (all were awful), I’d also add tobias Harris in the past two games beginning to turn back into what tobias Harris has been the past couple years in big moments/games in the playoffs for the sixers where he disappears for long stretches. The last 2 games he’s averaging 12.5 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Shooting 40% the last 3 games and he was 31% and 36% in games 3 and 5. The sixers need more offensively (really scoring) than 11 points out of Harris on 40%.  past two games he’s gone long stretches without scoring. They need him to be a consistent scorer with embiid not being what he was pre-orbital fracture/thumb. Game 4 he went from 4:29 of the 2nd quarter to 10:56 of the 4th without scoring. That’s a quarter and a half where he also took 0 shots between those baskets. game 5 he went from 1:26 in the first quarter til 6:35 of the 3rd without scoring (believe just 3 shots). The sixers need him to score in this series to help finish off Miami

Add on he’s been asked to be a bigger defender then he ever has so he’s wearing down. the past last two games is basically giving you what he was giving you offensively vs. Toronto back in 2019 which was arguably his worse statistical numbers of his playoff career.

What a total lack of effort all around. Unbelievable

6ers in 7

Listening to a lot of embiid’s presser but some of the things he’s saying comes off poorly after a performance like tonight and in general.

I still think they win at home to push it to 7.

Honestly dating back to last year every time i think they will do one thing they do the exact opposite. I thought after game 3 vs. atlanta they’d steamroll atlanta. They lost the next two. Heck when they lost game 4 how they did i thought they’d come back and blast atlanta in game 5. Lost that game. Then i thought it was over heading into game 6. They won that game. I figured game 7 at home they’ll salvage this series then lose to the bucks. They lost game 7.

This year thought they’d end it in game 4 or 5 vs Toronto. They no showed. Then i thought they’d surely lose game 6 after that and they won. Tonight i didn’t expect to win but thought it would be a down to the wire type game. They got destroyed. I think they’ll win game 6 but with how the sixers are they easily could just get smoked in game 6

I hope they play with the same urgency and energy. I worry this team goes in waves with that. Like Toronto first two games they did. Game three they found it second half. Then took two games off to re-find it.

I hate being a sixers fan at times.
