Among the employees let go by the team were senior director of equipment operations Scott Rego, Delaware Blue Coats general manager Matt Lilly, Blue Coats head strength and conditioning coach Craig Whitworth-Turner and Sixers scout Rod Baker.

The Inquirer’s Keith Pompey first reported the layoffs. Pompey reports "around 17 employees” were let go, including half of the scouting staff.

Just a poorly run organization if I must say that is run by greed.

Yep. Can't stand the ownership group.

I was trying to post the Twitter video of Maxey but it didn’t work. Check it out though.

Saw it.  Lots of step back 3s. Looks good.

He has a a bit of a slow release but a good wingspan to make up for it

An equipment manager working for the Sixers for 34 years. Morey has his own guy for that.

This is the same organization that wasn't going to pay their employees during the pandemic last year until Embiid embarrassed them.

They don't get the benefit of the doubt from me.

Lol.

For context if not everyone knows,  the one on the left is BigDaws. A youtuber who has impersonated Klay a few times.  Not even an NBA player. Which makes this even better.

I had a vague thought after this latest playoffs embarrassment, about how the lack of culture down there is a big part as to why this team continues to suck when it matters the most. What is this teams culture and makeup? How respected can it be, where you only have two real home grown studs in Embiid and Simmons, and the latter isn't even a real stud, who the majority of the league doesn't respect ? Then it made me think more about the slimeball ownership group , as well as the revolving door who makes the basketball decisions. From Hinkie, to Colangelos, with Rod Thorn sorta kinda hanging around through some of those years / Marc Eversley in the background, to Brett, to Elton, to Morey. This latest report where they're axing employees of 30+ years, just because, further confirms it in my mind at least. There's no culture down there. It all just revolves around Embiid and when he is moping there's no coming out of it. The players in the court aren't good enough and the staff/suits off the court are either constantly changing or haven't been here long enough to convince the fans that everything is going to be fine. Just a crap show.

It's just something that Miami, Boston, MIL doesn't have to deal with. MIL found their Embiid in Giannis and built around him and only him this entire time. Eventually realized it was time to push the chips in on the last piece and they did that and won the whole thing. BOS has a stranglehold on their lore and place in league history and have the wins, a recent ring and just constant continuity from Ainge over the years into now Stevens to show for it. MIA has the elite figurehead in Riley, which has a trickle down effect + top FA destination which combines to dwarf our situation.

It's why when a team like Miami or Boston is kicking our ass you almost cheer for them to do it, because of how fake and soft our own team is. It's just a **** culture down there and its for a helluva lot reasons more than the fact that Hinkie wanted to tank for a season or two, almost 10 years ago.

There was a guy who used to post here that worked in finance who said he knew Josh Harris when it was first announced he was buying the team. Said he was the greediest person he'd ever met and he was going to be bad news for the team. Would only care about finances, not winning.

[Fischer] Paul Millsap, 36-year-old former All-Star, has drawn interest from the Warriors, Hawks, Nets, Pelicans, 76ers and Timberwolves

Source: https://www.theringer.com/nba/2021/8/23/22637620/ben-simmons-76ers-trade-rumors-relationship

De'Aaron Fox has been linked with a trade to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons, but that would be a difficult decision for the Sacramento Kings to make.

The Kings have a logjam at guard with Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, Davion Mitchell and Buddy Hield while also having one of the worst defenses in the league. Trading for Simmons would balance Sacramento's roster construction and improve their defense.

But a league source tells The Ringer that Fox is "content in Sacramento" and that might be too critical of a component to risk for one of the more enigmatic players in the league in Simmons.

Fox signed a five-year, $163 million contract extension with the Kings during the 2020 offseason.

My wife's parents live about 30 minutes outside of Sacramento, so trust me when I say:

No one is "content" in Sacramento.

I don't see a lot of Kings games. I know Fox isn't the best 3 point shooter. How is his midrange game?

He shot 39% in the midrange last year. Fox makes his money with his speed and ability to finish in traffic around the hoop.

Haliburton shot 44.7% from midrange. Morey should really try to squeeze Haliburton and Buddy for Simmons

Maybe Sixers should play skins every game.

Have to say, for all the pics he posts of his greased arms with veins bulging every offseason, hes gotten extremely unimpressive results after 5 years of training in the NBA. No pecs. barely has abs. Seems to have little love handles... Look by his right hip he has an hourglass figure. wtf?

Maybe he has been in better shape other years. But at least this year it doesnt look like hes even doing that.

Won't prevent the shrinkage in real games
