Brogdon another 28 points last night. 8 assists. 8 rebounds.

This team would be awesome with him. And the pacers 1st round pick. They are 0-2 and not a good team.

Instead, we have Morey's circus. And a blown chance to show we are a title contender against an elite team we should have won against.

They are not a title contender.  Probably not even top 5 in the east

Yep. Though I love Embiid his one flaw is fatal. Thats why I was not interested in giving him the super max. We will never win a title with him. He will never be healthy enough to do it.

It makes the most sense to take back a Brogdon level player and picks because the picks are the most important thing. Embiid will keep us in contention for a while, and that player will help too, but we need to be accumulating young talent and assets to be ready for when the team, or he, finally realizes its time to move on.

You dont try to build a championship team around Embiid at this point. There is no such thing. We know that by now.

Ill enjoy him while he is here but the goal needs to be building for the future for when he is gone.

If you don't give Embiid the max then who gets the max in your eyes? Joel is worth every penny he is signed for. Such a dumb take.

Your solution is, The Process 2.0, which has absolutely failed. Not to mention the Thunder who are going that route are no closer to sniffing a play in game then when they traded Russ back in 2019.

Wrong. and wrong.

To answer the first question- not a guy who has never been healthy for a post-season.

And its far from the process 2.0. In the process the team purposely bottomed out to accumulate its own assets. Currently, we have Embiid and other good players, even good depth. You will remain competitive. And be able to compile assets at the same time. And IF Embiid stays healthy, they  might even be good enough to win it one of these years.

The truth is, those who want to build around Embiid for right now are the ones who are destined to repeat the process 2.0. When youve dumped all depth and assets to build around him and he is injured and you win nothing he will eventually be gone to. Like everything else youve traded away. And the team will have no hope. Such a dumb take. However, with the current rules in the NBA it will never be as likely to work as it was back then. The lottery is different. And we have learned the NBA is against it and will act against it. It has no chance of ever being repeated. But if you can do it while remaining competitive... thats what you need to try to do.

So Kawhi isn't worth the max either then in your opinion.

All NBA 3 times, All Defensive Team 3 times, 4 time All Star, runner up MVP last year. A top 5 to 8 player in the league right now and a generational type talent with his size and skill isn't worth the max.

@JayEcho

Would be proud of your miserable take.

Are you trying to make things up to look better in an argument? I seem to remember Kawhi winning an NBA finals. He has 2 titles. So you are wrong again.

To reliably compete for a championship, you need one generational talent…Embiid is borderline on that front.

Then you need a second star that you earned…either by drafting yourself or by trading smartly accumulated assets.  Don’t have that.

Then you need a freebie star 3 who joined the party to cherry pick on the title fun.  Don’t have that.

My points are solid, you got the dope take of Embiid not being worthy of the max as a top 5 to 8 player in the league right now.

You can't replace his talent in a trade no matter who you get back and Sixers would be worse off the next 5 to 8 years without him. Embiid makes any team legit title contenders when he is on the team.

Yeah... everyone used to say you can't replace Simmons value in a trade too.

You know when Joel's value matters? In the playoffs.  So when he's not healthy for us then,  his value is 0.

Shaq barely watches basketball and his shows when he talks on TNT.

Are a handful of teams that have no good young talent or fit the style of Ben's play and should absolutely take the risk because of his upside.

Not everyone is as stupid as the sixers and want to take that risk.

You don't need to watch basketball regularly to know that Ben is a lazy ass that refuses to get any better at anyone else's pace but his own.

But again are teams willing to take the risk on him because of lack of talent on current team and/or fit for team.

Have said it for years, Ben doesn't work with Embiid because they both need the paint to operate. Are absolutely teams in the league that Ben would make better tomorrow.
