I'd be interested to see where Brady's avg release time is because if you're avg is in the top 5 you can have a lesser OL, IMO.

Chicken and egg, the NE offense was built around quick WRs who ran routes designed to get open in a couple seconds, sorta the NE coast offense.

Brady ran it to perfection.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

If he’s so damn special why wasn’t he active in the postseason for the Chiefs??

The Eagles could use another back but Shady does nothing to improve this offense.

Please find the post where I called him special and quote it....strawman.

I wouldn’t use him not being active for the Chiefs as a barometer.   He could have had some sort of nagging injury, etc.  He seemed to play well there when given the opportunity.

And I can just about guarantee if the Eagles sign McCoy it would be because Reid gave a thumbs up to Pederson, Howie and Lurie.  And Reid wouldn’t steer those guys wrong, like ever.

That makes sense but I feel like it would have been done by now.

Sorry Mr. Literal

Is a RB signing at this point truly improving the offense or more about not experiencing severe production drop if there is an injury?  Who is the right back for that?  Hyde would have been nice, but Eagles aren't spending that.  So the real question is who in the 1.5 million range is available that would accomplish the above?  Could Shady do that for half a season if needed?  That is the real question.

The Eagles still could use a north/south punisher. Howard, Ajayi, and Blount all had success in this offense and the rest of the offense strived because of it. Even Ryan Mathews did well when the Eagles emphasized that portion of the offense.

I just don’t think Shady is worth signing when more than likely he’d be 3rd in RB touches. If there’s an injury or two and/or some of these other guys don’t look like they belong in camp then I think it’s worth mentioning.

If it wasn’t for his history with the Eagles,  Shady wouldn’t even be discussed.

Absolutely. Why can't that be Michael Warren II?

It very well could. Hard to tell with an UDFA.

I’m not sure about that.  I’m a huge McCoy fan but his running style requires burst and agility...and speed.   If he has it left in the tank, it would be nice to bring him in to compete but that’s a big "if”.   And you’re discounting Warren too much, imo.  Seems like that kid is a player.

And don’t forget about Killins....the kid is a home run hitter and could be the fastest player on the team and that’s saying a TON based on who we drafted this year.  Killins could get a spot for his home run threat on kickoffs alone.

Even if they don’t sign a veteran RB, this could be the most competitive camp for RB’s in a long time.

Killins is a fun watch on the highlight reel but the dude is smaller than Donnel Pumphrey. I think the best case scenario is KR specialist. I’m not sure how much he’ll actually contribute as a RB

I would. I’d be surprised if there was some nagging injury as all reports were he was a healthy scratch at the end of the season, dressed for the divisional round and played 2% of snaps, and then was again a healthy scratch so KC could bolster their D line. Plus, he was a real tale of two seasons. He started off well the first 4 games going 40 for 214, then he played bad going 61 for 241 the rest of the season and had two bad fumbles. After the second fumble his playing time plummeted. Second half of the season his ypc was around 3.2

The Shady thing comes with history and regret for Howie, which makes the move more likely than it would be if he had been drafted by the Jags or Texans.

Royce Freeman is a good shout too - the Broncos signed Melvin Gordon and have a good RB in Lindsay.  Freeman has kind of disappointed but the Broncos have been a train wreck for the past few seasons.

I think McCoy was a scratch last year because he had a costly fumble against GB. Reid made it a point to him, and the team, that it wasn't acceptable. McCoy still has some ability. He wouldn't be my first choice, but at the vet minimum he would be a fine addition. He's been healthy for his whole career. No major injuries. Had a very good YPC last year. I just think we need a more physical runner. We have enough speed and elusiveness/finesse with Sanders and Scott.

We have money, but Howie is hoarding it for next season, which is the right move.

This season is going to be so chaotic that you don't want to invest too much into it, whereas he'll want the flexibility to replace veterans or retain the ones who still have something left in the tank next year.

The money I said we lack is because of next year, not this year.

Neither Clowney or Yannick want 1 year deals, which 8s all we could afford.

I agree with not spending much with the season in flux and the need to roll over as much as possible.

Slow with little burst, but I have no problem waiting to see how he looks in camp before adding a guy like McCoy.

I have no problem going with the youth but I think you should bring in someone now to push them. Outside of Sanders it’s all undrafted guys. They shouldn’t just win a roster spot because there’s no one else.

Scott was a sixth round draft choice of the Saints.

The season tickets were the one hang up I could think of in the pan I came up with.  You basically have no choice other than telling some of them they can't come.

It's either tell all of them their tickets are no good for this year.  Or tell half of them they get 4 home games and the other half gets the other 4 games.  With either plan pretty much all of them will be on different seats than they are used to as well.

You can't get down to 25% capacity while honoring all of the season tickets this season.

Of course a lot of them will be extremely upset.  But you gotta hope people are intelligent enough to understand why this is necessary and not hold it against the company.

Maybe you split them up.  4 games for half 4 games for the other half.

Pardon the Eminem song with questionable lyrics but here are highlights from the first 4 games for Shady last year.  He definitely doesn't have the same juice, still carries the ball wildly but also still makes some OK plays.  Pretty sure Boston Scott can offer the same pop.

Yeah thats one of my ideas.

2 potential issues. There still may be too many of them.

And, theyre going to have to move seats. If you have them spaced throughout the stadium for proper distancing some will be in way different locations. Many will be downgraded.

Got a haircut today for the first time in 2 months, and then on the way home stopped at the local fish market to get some soft shells and corn from farmer's market across the street.  Dinner tonight will be good. :groovy:

I wish we had the money. That Dline would be insane

That’s what I’m curious about when they keep talking about 25-30% stadium capacity for games. How is that going to work when you’ve already paid for all 10 home games?

They would have to find a way to implement a system whereby only some seats are "valid" for a particular game. That might make sense on the surface (at the entry point) but I don't know how they're going to be able to force people to only sit in "valid" seats once the game starts. People move around constantly during a football game, to the point of being distracting to the fans like me who stay at our seat the entire time and actually focus on the game down on the field.

Frankly, I would be willing to have a season with no fans. Or even some fans, as outlined above. What I object to is HE's suggestion of cancelling all season tickets and then selling tickets on the open market. I don't think that would even be legal given the fact that about 2/3 of the stadium is filled with fans who paid money for a seat license. There's no way in hell the Eagles could legally justify selling the seat of a license holder to some random person.

With mobile ticketing, it seems like itd be incredibly easy to just not make the QR code available to be scanned if its not your game to go to.

I dont know what the contract says when you buy a license but usually a company reserves the right to make changes. One instance would be a rowdy fan that gets kicked out. Maybe something like Julia Rose flashing at a baseball game and being barred form MLB games. Would assume the NFL has the ability to change terms of the contract. In this case its obviously not a lifetime ban, but a 1 year hiatus.

There is no ideal or perfect scenario. If they are to have fans in the stadium, the fans who get to be there are going to have to be ok with making some concessions. Their only other option is to not be there at all so theyll have to come to terms with whatever concessions they are asked to make.

I don’t think he is that slow.  Holyfield is slow.  Warren strikes me as a second half of 4.5 range to me.  I have seen him break some long runs and YAC.  I saw plenty of Warren as I try to see any AAC games I can as that is where my alma mater plays.  I also don’t get the cement shoes comment one of the draft sites said about him. He is patient with the blocks.  Has soft hands and catches with his hands.  For his size, he is not a hammer.  You won’t mistake him for Sanders.  Way different type of runner than Shady. More like Ajayi.  Thing is, I think he could run a bit like Duce.  His pass pro isn’t.

I think he needs to cut a little weight to add some juice. NFL holes will close too quickly for him IMO.

This is just super impressive from a rookie

I don’t necessarily think rolls Royce disappointed. He hasn’t been given a shot really. He’s proved he can catch and run it just that their old oc used him terribly. I would actually like that move a lot cuz I feel his best years are ahead of him in a committee approach utilizing all his skills instead of just running him into the backs of lineman. He had the most stacked boxes last year of any rb cuz defenses knew if he was in it was a run up the middle every time
