Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Hyde would have been the best choice of the 3 FAs, but he is off the market now per your post.  Don't think Freeman will fit in the role and money asked.  Shady is a possibility, but his age would limit his 2nd tenure to 1-2 seasons.

Bilal Powell might still be out there. Perfect fit for me, if he had a stable neck.  Don't know how that has healed, if he can safely play.........

Notable UFA RBs left...

  • McCoy
  • Riddick

They're all about the same. There's no rush to get a guy just to get a guy.

Considering his red zone prowess I really believe the Eagles win that game.

Yep.  I really think the Eagles game-planned accordingly and would have had their number with Carson in.

Personally, Id prefer to see them deliver food to the seats so all the fans stay put. But even the at seat ordering cuts down gathering in lines at the stands quite a bit.

They already do that in the club box sections.  At 25% capacity I can see them doing seat delivery on a broader scale.   Would make sense.

Would you give up next years 1st for Jamal Adams?

yep. And they do it in club levels, as well as courtside seats at NBA games. If soemone orders from an app (eagles already have a mobile app, and would just need to design/add this ordering system in the app) and inputs their seat number, it would be very easy to have a few concession workers delivering food. Im thinking of the upper levels of the stadium where I always sit... theres about 27? say 30 rows.

You take the register people away from the concession stand, and even a few of those who prepare the food (because remember the stadium is only 25% full so you dont need as many cooking) you can easily give those extra foot workers a few rows in each section to take care of. If you have 5 extra, give them 6 rows each. That seems very manageable to deliver to.

Avery Williamson from the Jets. Maybe we can get him on the cheap somehow? His contract has just 1 year left but it would no doubt be too rich for this front office/coaching staff as it’s at 8.5 mil. Not sure if that can be manipulated by the Jets at all... He’s been mentioned as a possibly cap casualty too. If we can get him for roughly 4 mil or even less, that may be ok. He’s coming off an ACL but that occurred in training camp so obviously he needs to be cleared medically. He would be a clear upgrade over anyone we currently have in that stable and is only 28.

Amen.

Worth commenting on how well Isaac executes here. Just beautiful.

I don't know what the Eagles call this last blocking scheme. I've always called it the power.

Remember when fans would complain that Andy didn't run enough. "We were gaining 6 yards a run . . ."

Stoutland does a great job of explaining why you have to pass at times out of the same formation to set up the run.

Otherwise, as soon as you have success with a formation, the defense will key on that.

You can see his attention to detail, and that he sees the game far beyond his immediate coaching responsibility.

I don't see the point trading much of anything for a player who is already disgruntled while still on his rookie deal -- what does he offer in the locker room?  He doesn't seem to want to be a leader

Just saw Hyde signed with Seattle. Disappointed the Eagles didn't get him. I thought he'd be the perfect compliment to Sanders and Scott. I love Sanders but I'm not crazy about the idea of giving him 20 plus touches a game consistently. We need him to be fresh and healthy in December/January. Really nothing else out there besides Freeman and Shady and with Freeman still looking for decent money, well......

It is a little disappointing. Freeman looked cooked last year, as well as Shady. Hyde was running pretty strong. He would have been good for that Blount/Howard role and a closer if we had hefty leads. I can’t waste Sanders and run him into the ground in those types of games.

As far as Dak, I think he's a very good "caretaker" QB, but he lacks the arm and vision to be a franchise QB.

Just think what Wentz did down the stretch last year with WRs who would struggle to make most NHL rosters.

This is a big armed QB with no one who could get 20 yards past the LOS in 4 seconds.

With Dak, if you have a soft defense, he can carve you up, but he's not even as good as Romo was against a good defense. He struggles with tight windows.

I'm not sure about a 1st but adding Adams would be nice.  I just don't see it happening.  The Eagles have shown they will pay above average salary at safety but I don't think they want to pay top dollar which they would have to.  I have the same feeling with him as CeeDee Lamb.  Anyone but the Cowboys but I think that's what will happen.

In a vacuum, absolutely.  24 years old and in the conversation for best safety in the league. That's absolutely worth a 1st pure value POV IMO.  From a resource allocation stand point though I just don't see it making sense for us to pay him what he wants/deserves right now based on what we have at SS already and future cap situation.

I'd say about 90%...but with an asterisk. There are some season tickets which are held by entities which do not go to games but simply resell the tickets. The people in front of us are there for every game (we get along great, which enhances the enjoyment because it's fun to share in the excitement with people you've come to know), but the seats to the left of us are different every single game. I'll occasionally ask the people sitting there where they got them, and they always name some ticket site.

A guy I like is Isaiah Crowell but he popped his Achilles (I think) early last season so he’d need a physical.

Any FBs?

No. Plus he wants to go to Dallas

Adams is 100% worthy of a first round pick. He's a special talent. The Jets would ask for a heckuva lot more than that, especially if they're dealing with a team they would expect to finish with a winning record. They would probably be looking for the kind of haul the Jaguars got last year for Jalen Ramsey, and I don't think the Eagles would be agreeable to that.

But if you're asking if I would trade the twenty-somethingth pick (and nothing else) next year for Adams, with a multi-year contract already agreed upon, yeah, I'm on board.

I would do it too, but the Jets would want more which means a pass. We just don't have the cap space.

If any team should trade for Jamal Adams, it's the Browns. That team desperately needs leadership. Delpit at FS allows Jamal Adams to be the SS. They have 38M in cap space. In the 2021 NfL draft, they have an extra 3 (Saints), 4 (Eagles), 5 (Rams). Trade a 1 & a 4 to get it done Cleveland.

No way. He wants to get PAID. We simply don’t have that money especially for that position. I would be interested in their other safety actually. Not sure what he would cost though.

Ray Diddy is talking about possibly targeting RB Royce Freeman as a trade option. I think I’d rather that than who is on the free agent market.

yeah. I think youre estimate is close.

Every year I get on ticketmaster as soon as season tickets officially go on sale and Ive never done better than row 25 of the upper level.

Never get lower level. Never even get lower in the upper level.

I usually end up about 3 rows from the very top. Ive even sat right up against the wall at the very top of the stadium before.

And these arent even the most attractive games. I dont bother even trying for a dallas game. Im typically looking at games when we play teams like the jags or tampa bay... if I get a divisional game its washington....

It seems pretty much the whole stadium is taken before single game tickets ever go on sale.

Rasul Douglas for Royce Freeman was a popular trade idea in February. I would do this as Freeman has 2 years left on his deal. He'd give us cap hits of $830K and $970K.
Freeman is also a good prospect/ok player from an analytics perspective.

No way. He’s talented but one dimensional. And he’s holding out to get a top deal. I’m not trading a first and making a box safety the highest paid guy at his position.

Really doubt the Eagles sign a FA RB until they can have him in for a workout.  Miller had his ACL in August.  Crowell hurt his Achilles last May.  Spencer Ware tore his rotator cuff last December.

I think the best thing is just roll with your young guys.  See what they bring to the table.  If during the season they need help they can find a vet on the streets.
