Flacco to the Jets.
I'm so happy we didn't get him.

I think he could be a good help to Darnold but, agreed, he wouldn’t have offered nearly as much to Wentz — and you don’t want him having to start for you at this point in his career

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I mean, i think i would rather have Flacco at $1.5M instead of Sudfeld at $2M

Flacco's injuries made him a bad fit for us. That contract also tells us that other teams had same concerns.

Context is hard for a lot of people.

The phrase, you get what you pay for springs to mind...

I'd take Flacco or Dalton over Sudfeld.

What exactly does Sudfeld give them? I'll take an older guy who won a Super Bowl considering who they had has a backup last year.

You’re asking the wrong guy that question.  I’d probably cut Sudfeld today if it were my team; I don’t think he offers anything of value.

I had a thread in the old EMB where I asked who the #2 QB should be for 2020.  I had guessed Dalton or Flacco; more responders were in favor of keeping Sudfeld.  Not sure why.

A 9.3 YPC is a bad defense for a WR, considering that’s even a little inflated due to a blown coverage against Dallas.

The bottom line is Greg Ward shouldn’t be used as any kind evidence one support of our quality of youth.

He delivered better than Hollins.  Look, I hope the Eagles hit on all four of there pick ups this offseason but I suspect Ward is going to be on the opening day roster.  I have said time and again that he is not ideal as a starter but a good depth player.  He and Scott injected some enthusiasm into the offense.   That is an intangible.  I want to see some Kelce/Mathis is some of these young OL  I want to see some Greg Ward in some of these new WRs   I want to see more Celek in Goedert

I really get the feeling that Wallace is that sort of player.  Edwards is.  Gerry is.  Word is that Slay is. We know BG is.  I sure get the feeling Taylor is. Any player that chases down a ball carrier from half a field away when down by almost forty points is my kind of guy.  The "dream team” showed what happens when assembling a team of names that believe they are more that the team.  Aso ate in the car.

sounds like exactly the idea I presented a while ago in here. As well as other teams being at about 25% capacity. Im so friggin smart.

Nah.  The cost difference is far less important than the fact that Flacco's arm is toast.

You're right that I didn't think of the UDFA additions.  I agree that to a large extent 2020 is an unknown.  Sanders is clearly a very good player.  If Dillard turn into a good starter then he makes that draft class.  I think we should know fairly quickly what type of player he is going to be.  I didn't think of substituting Thorson for Edwards.  Of course, one way to look at it is that there is no causal connection between the 2.  The could have had Gardner Minshew or Darius Slayton and TJ Edwards.

I loved the idea of the porn ‘stashe QB here but he didn’t seem to fit the profile.  He was on my board. Note that the cowpads dumped Cooper Rush and kept Thorson to compete with their draft choice.

No, he clearly didn't see the fumble but my point would be he was more interested in celebrating the sack than playing to the whistle.

So that one play makes you think he's not an ideal leader, when all the players that have played with him says he leads by example and word and was a hugely positive influence on every aspect.

many quotes here if you need them

Yeah, that kind of play happens to the best of them.

People who play sports swear they heard a whistle a lot. Happens every game i'd magine.

I feel like people just make up some narrative to suit some bias. With Long and Jenkins, it's usually the SJ stuff where people form an opinion where they don't like their politics so it makes them not like the player. I don't know that guy well enough to know what his problem is with Long, but to say he isn't an ideal leader considering all the evidence out there by players and coaches across his entire career, is just weird to me.

But Elway told me he's just coming into his prime!

Carlos Hyde to Seattle. It isn’t a game changing addition, but it is annoying Seattle always gets all the players that I want the eagles to get. And they always own us every single season when we play them.

Caplan said they aren’t looking to spend any more than the vet minimum on a RB. Really opening up that check book this spring to help Wentz out! Between a vet minimum RB and Marquise Goodwin, that’s just an embarrassment of riches and showing their willingness to spend to help out their QB.

LeSean McCoy looking more likely.

What’s wrong with Sanders, Scott, Clement, and one of Warren, Killins, or Holyfield?

Because if Sanders goes down, you have a situation similar to 2018 where Josh Adams was your lead back.

It’s a backup RB. You should almost always offer no more than vet minimum

Nothing, I think that’s why they are looking for a dirt cheap option. If he’s better than Warren/Killins/Clement he stays. If one or two or those three show they are just as good or better you cut the vet.

That fixes nothing.  Ok, so people are sitting farther apart in the stadium.  What about the lines getting into the stadium?  Concessions?  Bathroom?

BTW.  I have never come across someone who tells everyone how great they are, as much as you do.  That's including me.

I gave my ideas on those other things. In addition to the fact that 25% capacity automatically takes care of some of that already. I also posted the dolphins plan here that talked about scheduled arrival times at different enterances, as well as ordering concessions from your seat and only getting up to go pick up your order once its ready.

Also, you must have forgotten meatmcginley.
