Several are older. But we are switching D. Just wild to me that you think a switch just gets flipped and everybody young or old is at their best in a new scheme.

Just feel you been watching football way to long to not realize these basic simple things.

What I’ve seen from even the most experienced coaches is they still gotta learn and adapt to each year’s personnel. And injuries. So what they want to do and believe is the plan in TC coming into game one….gets improved and adapted somewhere along the season. Sooner than later makes the best coaches. Feels like every week is a work in progress all season really. Packers have started terrible with ARod…but became the best in the league.

I also point to a gameplan the coaches draw up each week. Sometimes it’s great…sometimes terrible. Everything isn’t going to be perfect always. Having players with intangibles helps in this area. They don’t just shrink and turn on each other. Resilient and stick together. Lift each other up instead of pointing fingers. Need chemistry. Team game here. A bunch of individuals doesn’t get it done. Need the 11 guys on the field playing as one unit….all together on the same page.

Dang, Landry signed with the Saints

Would you consider Rosie good at picking DBs in the draft? I say especially S. But you are limiting your draft selections forcing positions also. Kind of feel the first two days you need the best players that come to you. Once your team is pretty complete then you go finish the puzzle and team. Of coarse that’s how we drafted the fireman. Part of me says Rosie stinks at drafting S. So it’s a wasted pick. WR he seems to bat fifty percent. But I can agree with you some of spreading out the high draft picks positionally. We been stuck on always prioritizing and neglecting positions. Almost to an extreme. Our last draft pick corners didn’t work out. Sidney was a freaking second rounder that you knew couldn’t play year one. That’s pretty steep price. Douglas a decent price. So we traded for Slay. Paying him big time. Drafted Maddox. Misused him out of desperation. Got him right now. Wallace just haven’t seen. But feels like a bust. Another S pick down the drain.

True, but the last 2 drafts have been good, this one I would say was one of his best. It was nice to see him pay attention to the LB position for a change. If he is bad ar CB,S,maybe he can swallow his ego long enough to take advice from someone else(like this board HAHAHAHA). I was 99% sure we were set to take Woolen, then Seattle snagged him, then I saw a delay with them trying to find a replacement pick.It happens. If Zech wants to stick around he needs to up his game this year. next year there are some nice upper echelon DB's,so I suspect we get one high(finally). Of course that all hinges on if we are QB hunting. If Hurts posts up good number we can use those 2 round 1's for DB's(trade backs whatever). If Howie can pull the triple crown 3 nice drafts in a row,we should have a real good team

Let’s dial things back a notch here. We finally got the WR room legit. Not Dream Team crazy stuff.

Joe didn’t say anything outrageous he said our receiving group is a group that 25ish so teams would take which isn’t that hard to believe.

Smith-900 yards would have been 1k guy with better QB play

Geodart-850 yards split reps start the year missed couple games missed some plays but could be a 1k guy

AJ- has been a 1K guy with meh QB play

Quez- being your 4th option in a passing attack he put up 650 yards last year.

No we aren’t the rams or the bucs, Vikings duo couple others maybe.  Im not sure I can name 10 teams that I would say are hands down better then what we have.

Team history you bring up because we have always sucked there. Embarrassing really. DJax , Maclin, Avant and Celek ….tough call there. But league wide? You higher on it than I. Think having a developmental guy in Quez year two, Reagor sucking year two and Smitty as a rookie….was below average to say the least. Quez and Smitty looking good and promising. Wasn’t all there yet for sure though. Goedert had been a backup. Had a career season. Think he can do better and will still improve. But yep… how I feel is AJ made the WR room legit…along with one more year for Quez and Slim Reaper. Watched TB with Godwin, Evans and Brown last year. Could argue all three are better than any of ours. They have two promising young guys couldn’t hardly get on the field until the end. ODB, Woods, Kupp, Jefferson…Rams had last year….our WR room doesn’t look like that. Moss and Carter for the Vikes..I can’t compare AJ and Smith to that. Let’s dial things back a notch here. We finally got the WR room legit. Not Dream Team crazy stuff.

Reagor sucking year 2 hurt. Pascal should be much more reliable. He won't put up big numbers, but he can catch at least. Quez should be fine, limited numbers now for him with the Brown addition. 900+ yards from a rookie WR with a running QB is NOT "below average".The issue is Hurts, not Smith. I had JJ for us and Smith also, that would be nice tandem. Due to Reagors failure we are a little behind at WR,but we acquired the guy we needed to fill the gap.I'm with Joe,the only thing that will hold these guys stats back is Hurts. I want to see Hurts "open it up and air it out". That doesn't mean abandoning the running game, but accentuating it with crisp accurate passes. We know Hurts arm is under NFL average. he's been working hard all off season,so I am a bit excited to see if he has added and yards in the air to his arsenal. Smith and Brown are both top notch(too early to say elite, but on paper they are close). We just need the QB connection now. You can't really compare TB WR's to ours, they have a very accurate QB and Hurts needs to watch more GOAT film because Bradys arm isn't the best there is,but his accuracy is and he gets the ball out fast into tight windows. This is what Hurts should strive for. Nice "snap" with accuracy.I'm hoping to see that this year. I'm fine with out WR room.Lots of talent there now and I suspect that talent level wold increase if we got a true pocket passer, but let's see what Hurts has and if he improved BIG,because that's what it will take

Believe somewhere around the 9-10m range plenty of space to make some late additions to the roster if we so choose

That's what I read also. Still a chance we could trade Reagor, maybe for a semi decent/solid DB. We were close to doing that with the Ravens

Trae Waynes from Cincy is probably doable?

We get an extra 12 mil from the Cox reworking June 1. Think we have about ten today. Our largest cap hit is Hargrave on his final year. Like 17 mil-ish. So if we extended him we could open up quite a bit this season.

BTW the Philadelphia Stars are playing right now. Big game for them taking on a top team(on Fox)

Smitty as a rookie wasn’t below average. Very good season. His ceiling? I don’t think so. But I stated the whole WR room was below average as a whole. It was Slim Reaper and friends.

So you think a young QB should try to become the best player all time? Sounds great. Is that just Hurts? Or every player?

Be interesting if we decide to just let him walk he turns 30 this year I believe we just invested in another DT in Davis. Have Milton and the other DT we drafted last year and quite a few other young guys as well

Yes every young player should strive to be the best player if your not why are you playing the sport. He might never be the GOAT but definitely should be trying to be

Late addition of Honey Badger now Landry. What a roundup after the bell on vet FA. Holding their first rounder…gotta say don’t like it at all. How many wins do adding those two achieve them? Those guys both move the needle.

I don’t think so the coach and the QB see the Saints as middle of the pack at best and that is being generous

It says the Falcons are in need of a WR. Why would they want Reagor? He's not a WR. Hell, is he even a football player?

Cheap former first rounder and coaches are arrogant probably think they could fix him lol
