And none of the injuries the team has suffered yet are major injuries. Everyone who has gotten hurt is still likely to play in the season opener.

Again, complaining about three and four week injuries -- at THIS point -- is just silly.

PTSD.  Lots of former "minor" injuries magically morphed into season enders, or just about.  Mike Wallace missed basically the entire season with a broken arm.  Just crazy what has happened in recent years.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Huntley is playing with the 3s and no contact. Reminds me of the RB uberwonder OTAs about a decade ago until the pads went on and the defense were knocking him over just by touching him. Last year, there were comments from open practices that the defense enjoyed knocking Huntley over.

I think you are thinking of Pumphrey. Huntley wasn't in camp last year.

Same could be said for Hurts this year. Having an okay season, just good enough to keep him, would be disastrous. Need him to run away with it or stink so we have clarity there.

Just purely my gut but if he's just ok, I think they move on or at the least have a legitimate competition next year. I don't think they have the patience with him to just be ok.

Best case scenario..long term......is for the Eagles to have a bad year.  Empty seats or more opposing fans in the stands will help Lurie see the light.  Ticket sales won't suffer, obviously.  But when those tickets are sold to opposing fans or people don't show up, because the team blows, Lurie will take notice.  Hopefully then he would see the light and get rid of Howie and turn over football ops to a good football man.  Otherwise we will be in purgatory, which is my prediction.  7-10.....enough progress for Lowie to justify staying the course.  Worst case scenario.

Yeah, Eagles fans staying away in droves and selling their tickets to opposing teams  because the Eagles are having a down year during a rebuild. History supports that proposition.  They may be bums but they’re our bums.

Will be interesting to see who we play Week 2

Not necessarily. But there's a chance that the "shanks" aren't really shanks after all and were just directional punts as requested by the coaching staff. I know for a fact that they sometimes do that, and that reporters watching from afar are clueless about what's really happening.

As far as the kicker is concerned, I wouldn't say he's on thin ice but he isn't exactly on thick ice either. I wouldn't worry too much at this point.

Kempski times the punts, one of the reasons I read him.  He said they were working on some directional punts today but directional or not, a 3.66 hang time is abysmal. And the knock on him out of college was some punts with real poor hang times.  I do think he is punting against the field.  Frankly, if the press is all correct and both Jackson and Johnson are unlikely to make the team, I would rather have used a late round pick on Smith, who the Titans convinced to sign as an UDFA.

Nope, earlier the Pumphrey.

The Eagles had open practices for the media during the season and the reports about Huntley came from those.

Yep.  Need to watch the movie again.  Been too long.  Just like the crap through a goose line from Patton. Need to watch that one again too because I am not sure of the line.

Got another Taco Bell proponent.  Didn’t know you were bulking up to play OL.

It's "waves", not "vibes".

Please stay in your lane and out of mine.

I haven't heard this and have been keeping an eye out for any reports on how Jackson is doing so far. I liked him coming out.

Why would there be such a delta between returning to full practice and a return to games? Doesn’t make a lot of sense. If you’re heathy enough to fully practice, you should be healthy enough to play in games.

Big promotion.

Since Jake Elliott was referenced earlier, I thought it might be appropriate to look at his career kicking efficiency numbers as compared to all the other kickers around the league. There are three separate ratings I track. One is current rating, which is updated every week and carries over from one season to the next. The other is based solely on effectiveness in a particular year. The third is very similar to the second, but is based on points earned vs the expected points earned. For example, if two kickers each make 17 out of 20 attempts, they've earned 51 points for their team. But one kicker's attempts may have been from much closer than the other. Perhaps his were so short that he would have been expected to make 19 of them, whereas the other kicker's attempts were so far away that he would only have been expected to make 15. The latter's rating would naturally be better.

Anyway, tracking Elliott through his four years:

2017) Ranked 16th, 14th, and 13th, respectively. So if you average them out 14.3.

2018) Ranked 16th, 24th, and 24th. Average 21.3.

2019) Ranked 17th, 14th, and 15th. Average 15.3.

2020) Ranked 24th, 28th, 29th. Average 27.0.

So even in his best years, he was really only in the average range. Certainly not bad but not great either. (Thanks for that clutch kick in the Super Bowl though!)

While I don't think his job is in jeopardy in camp, he really does have to at least get back to the middle-of-the-road category. Only the really great kickers (Tucker immediately comes to mind) are great from year to year. The rest tend to bounce up and down. So I'd say there's a decent chance he rebounds this year.

I think it was the really fast UDFA from UCF: Adrian Killins.

Probably risk of re-injury. When I broke my elbow in college (not the same thing, of course), I was back to normal in about eight weeks. But my doctor told me that even though I could move my arm okay, he wouldn't recommend me playing sports for about three months. He said that if I were an athlete, he might push it up a few weeks. So I suspect there's a risk that doctors will allow.

Which RBs do you think make the 53? Sanders, Gainwell, _______, ________. Haven't heard much about Johnson. & Scott but keep hearing Huntley's name during camp. Would like to see someone take Scott's spot (knowing they would have to return punts).

I don't think Gainwell is near a lock anymore.

Sanders is the only 100% keeper with Scott appearing to have some sort of role.  Then IMO it comes down to one of Johnson/Howard and one of Huntley/Gainwell.
