Yea it's hard to speculate because there are so many scenarios that can happen. I think it comes down to in order

1. His health, obviously

2. Colts record and how well Eason is playing

3. Titans record and if they are running away with the division

Play Arizona and bucs weeks 1 and 2. So likely 1-1. However after that Colts game they play the Jets and jags. Very easily could be 4-1 if the Colts lose that game to them.

Also, can someone provide me evidence or a graph that shows coaches in the NFL who promote Rock-Paper-Scissors, do not have a less success than coaches who don't?  Since that is a thing around here now.

Fact: No coach using RPS has ever won a single playoff game.

There ya go.  Happy?

Flacco may be the #3 QB at this moment.  Yes, it is early.  By the reports thus far, he has not shined.  He has a rich guaranteed contract which may be hard to cut him.  Nice handi-work that Howie has done.

Maybe you can trade him to someone who needs a veteran backup. Maybe the Jets?

The Delta variant is to first generation COVID what Cox is to McGill as a DT.

In about two more weeks, you'll see record numbers of infections.

And it's not just deaths, by the time this is over, long-haulers will number in the millions.

And we all get to pay for it...

Yes, it is.

Good grief, man.  Offer some context in your responses instead of just wasting time to be contrary.  Whether you’re playing through pain with a rib fracture or a foot fracture, it comes down to pain tolerance.

If there has been structural damage to the foot since his high school days he obviously has some sort of tolerance.  If he plays through a torn MCL and ACL to throw a TD pass in an important game he obviously has some pain tolerance.

But, sure, you’re right.  He’s going to sit out 12 weeks just because.

If the Colts start slow, the threshold might get pushed to 75 percent of the snaps since they might miss the playoffs.

Just a cluster F.

Don’t worry, he’ll get covid at some point and miss more time.

Well, here is my hope.  Colts have a tough first six games and Carson will be rusty so they do well enough for him not to be benched but miss the playoffs so that the Eagles get a mid level 1st and if he doesn’t heal fast and misses the 75% by a good margin that they suck and we have to settle for a high second.  I also hope Tua sucks resulting in the Miami first being a high pick.

Well......we all know that's not going to happen because that's what want.

But actually, we don't want him to light it up.  We want him to play the requisite number of games and play like ish so they have a high 1st.

I'm rooting for him to play like an MVP 🤷‍♂️

So when exactly is he having the surgery?

Yes, it sucks that this won't be a first.  That's definite at this point.

But if Wentz were still here, never traded, and had this same injury in our camp...he and his contract would have negative trade value.  We'd be looking at trading Wentz and a 2 for a 7th round pick in the offseason.

Instead, we unloaded Wentz, absorbed 1 year of his hit, and got a 2.

No it's not. 5 weeks from now is the 6th of September. If the deal is based on percentage then he can even miss a week or 2

Getting a 2 and a 3 for a broken down Carson Wentz, saving 30M in cap space in the process, is still an excellent trade.

Yep, exactly.  We can complain about not getting a first because of this, but he's now the Colts problem, not ours.

The other sad fact of Carson is that the end of his career may be near.  The Colts have an opt out of his contract after the 2022 season.  If he cannot stay healthy, I think they may take it.

He’s still a kid. Be a kid and enjoy your senior year of high school. That’s my thought anyway

Reading up on him, and he's pretty old. Turned 18 back in March and he's one class away from earning his degree.

That damn 1st rounder was the only thing I was optimistic about for this upcoming year and Wentz keeps ruining it

Don’t feel too bad. The Dolphins could fall back to earth and as such still give the Eagles a top ten pick, and if Hurts is as bad as everyone (Wentz apologist) claim he is then the Eagles could have two top ten picks.

The real interesting question will be what the Colts do with Wentz.  In all likelihood, he won't hit his 70% snap threshold...disappointing for us, sure, but also frustrating for the Colts.  They aren't going to want to pay out that contract for a guy that just isn't reliably on the field.  Wentz will play better than 2020, worse than 2017.  You can probably bet the farm on that.

That's not going to be enough for the Colts to feel great about committing to him in 2022.
