Colts have a tough first six games and Carson will be rusty so they do well enough for him not to be benched but miss the playoffs so that the Eagles get a mid level 1st and if he doesn’t heal fast and misses the 75% by a good margin that they suck and we have to settle for a high second. But if Wentz were still here, never traded, and had this same injury in our camp...he and his contract would have negative trade value. We'd be looking at trading Wentz and a 2 for a 7th round pick in the offseason. Instead, we unloaded Wentz, absorbed 1 year of his hit, and got a 2. We can complain about not getting a first because of this, but he's now the Colts problem, not ours. The other sad fact of Carson is that the end of his career may be near. In all likelihood, he won't hit his 70% snap threshold...disappointing for us, sure, but also frustrating for the Colts. They aren't going to want to pay out that contract for a guy that just isn't reliably on the field. Wentz will play better than 2020, worse than 2017. You can probably bet the farm on that.
