I think Jackson had more snaps because they were going easier on Barnett with his neck issue.

Probably, but interesting they went Jackson instead of Williams. And Barnett's snap count didn't fall off much from week 10.

I think San Francisco is more of a worry for the wild card then the saints. The saints have lost 3 in a row. And continuously find themselves down double digits in the fourth Quarter. Siemian is regressing not improving. Plus they have a bunch of injuries.

the niners are getting healthier each week and at the right time. Aiyuk is coming alive. Kittle is healthy. Deebo is playing great. Wilson and Mitchell are running well. And Jimmy G is playing competently. Their schedule vs. Minnesota (winner has a leg up in the wild card), at seattle, at cincy, vs. atlanta, at titans, vs. Houston and at rams. I see them winning at least 4 of those 7 games. I don’t think it’s a given the titans, rams or cincy just beats them on the road. They could be 9-8 or better.

49ers are absolutely a bigger concern.  They own the tie-breaker over the Eagles while the Eagles own the tie-breaker over the Saints.

The Vikings are also a concern cause their schedule sets up for them to likely get to 9-8. At sf, at lions, vs. Steelers, at bears, vs. rams, at GB and vs. bears. Should really be rooting against the Vikings and niners in every game they play.

When the All-22 is up I’ll take a look and hopefully see something.

Take a look at the non deep pass to Smith as well, hurts clutched it twice and never let it fly and then just took off running.

I'd be interested to see if Smith was open or in single coverage and why hurts didn't let er rip?

With that win over the Packers it all but assured(in my mind) a playoff trip for the Vikings.

So saints(meh) 9ers, (my pick) and the Eagles left for that 3rd wildcard

I’d agree with you on the Vikings but I’ve seen cousins too many times turn back into a pumpkin when they’ve needed him the most. He nearly did that in the packers game. He was saved by a BS roughing the passer that wiped out an interception and savage overturned interception

Are people ready to have the conversation that right now Jalen Hurts is the best "value" of any player in the NFL? He's making 1.5M for each of the next 3 years, including this one.

And he’s great value because, since he only throws to Goedert and Smith, and rarely does that, we don’t need to invest in any more offensive skill position players, and Smith will be super cheap to extend in a few years, because he won’t get the ball very much.

Why would a bunch of Steelers fans even be having that conversation ??

There was a point during the game yesterday where I looked at the numbers and saw that Hurts was 9-for-17, with 12 carries.  The thought that went through my mind was "we really do have a QB who would rather run the ball than throw it"

After the season I wouldn't be surprised no matter which way the QB position goes.  Sirianni might just tell Howie he needs a QB who can operate the entire system, and Howie might just tell Nick to make the best of it for another season.

Another tie this week for the prediction winners.

@jamiller predicting 44-24 and @Westbrook#36 predicting 40-20

Bonus prediction winners:

@Bacarty2 Elliott has 4+ FG's

@justrelax Eagles 175+ rushing yards

@Swoop offense has a terrible fumble

@Utebird Slay INT

This is a big reason why I'm against spending any kind of draft capital to replace/upgrade the QB spot this off season. The team needs to invest the draft picks into younger players and then re-evaluate QB after 2023.

If you spend picks to acquire a QB this off-season, I feel the lack of talent on the team is going to put them in roughly the same spot they are now. Invest the picks, roll with Hurts next year, and then see where they are at.

Was thinking the same thing, but then I realize Dalvin Cook could beat the Lions and Bears twice so Kurt* only has to show up for the Steelers or San fran game

They should destroy the lions. But the lions nearly beat the Vikings in Minnesota. Took a 54 yard field goal as time expired for Minnesota to outlast the lions 19-17.

Minnesota has had a weird season. Lost 3 games by a field goal to the bengals, cardinals and ravens. Lost to Dallas with cooper rush starting. Nearly lost to the lions. And couldn’t move the ball against Cleveland in a 14-7. loss. Only game that didn’t come down to the wire for them was Seahawks game.

Wow.  I just looked at the schedule ahead.  Up until cowboys in week 18, our toughest test is one game against the Giants.

We may well be 10-6 heading in to that week 18 game against Dallas.

Could be a win and you're in scenario for playoffs.

Yea but how many QBs can do what he does with his legs?  We can point out flaws in all but a handful of QBs games.

About a million of them in college. And the funny thing is they don't make it to the pros

gets really really hard to run in the red zone.

You made that prediction thinking we‘d lose. 😁

Oh and in case you missed it: Hurts had three rushing TDs.

If it was so easy, how come few QBs who can do in the NFL?

I feel like everyone has had a weird season, besides us so far. You can name any team and find an improbable win or an unexplainable loss. Feels like Eagles are the only team to lose games they were expected to and win games they were mostly expected to.

Because they are passing quarterbacks, that's not that difficult to figure out. The rare thing is when they can do both.

The QB question has got to be our priority. It's next to impossible to win a super bowl without a top 10 type of QB.

The good news is that this isn't an either/or situation. We can hedge our bets on Hurts while still adding a ton of talent to the roster. But I would prioritize our QB optionality above all else.

I think a top 10 QB is necessary but having a top 10 defense is as necessary.  I think the team could build a top 10 defense with picks this year.  They can acquire a top 10 qb by trading away future assets.  Creating future assets doesn't necessarily lead to either outcomes.  It just impairs potentially the ability to improve the team now.

So, right now, Football Outsiders has it as basically a four team (PHI, MIN, NO, SF) battle for the last two wild card spots.

Maybe the RB from IND - Carson is making good money handing the ball off… I kid… not really.

Wentz was arguably the best player in the NFL that year. He got us the #1 seed, HFA, and a title shot. Foles then played like a superstar when it mattered.

QB play won us that SB while our defense got shredded by Tom Brady.

I think defensive play got the team to the Super Bowl and the defense did enough to keep NE from scoring.  Foles won the game.  He had as good of a 2 game stretch as any QB.  I mean it's really a question of probability. I think there was a decent chance that Foles put in those types of back to back performances but it's improbable that he would be able to play like that over a season.  Having a top 10 QB week in and out allows for a greater chance of that type of performance.  It's the same on defense.  A bad defense may look good for a game, but it's not enough to win a super bowl.  A good defense can have a bad game but is much more likely to be able to make some plays during a game that allow a better chance for the team to win.

Short or long-term for Taylor? It's a shame if he can't come back and play this season. He has really improved week to week.
