Minshew isn't the answer to anything...  "play the other guy" has been around as long as the NFL...

Plus, and I would guarantee this so strongly that I almost hope they do play Minshew so I can be proven right...  you take Hurts out, and the ground game won't look remotely as good as it has...  he may be ineffective in the pocket, stare down receivers, etc, etc... but he makes the entire running game go with the D having to pay so much attention to him...

I'd be ok with seeing Minshew for a few games only to see Sirriani's offense with a better passer.

But he has 0% chance of being the future of the Eagles.

I would be willing to bet most people can at least acknowledge our run game likely wouldn't go over 200 yards consistently without Hurts. Having said that, it could still do a good job so long as we have a QB that's actually a threat to throw the ball.

If they start the game by embracing this run first and our o-line is gonna bust you up mentality and identify, we win. Pretty simple. Of course, Howie, Jeff, analytic dept. just couldn't help themselves. They just couldn't. They got what they deserved, an embarrassing loss by the hands of a **** team.

The offense would undoubtedly be better with a better passer...  but it's a matter of degrees whether Minshew is good enough passer to compensate for a dominant run game...  I know nothing about how well he reads defenses, or sees the field, etc...

However, in the end, I wouldn't really care if they yanked Hurts...  they're not gonna do that, though, so it's nearly pointless...

Never forget:

They used a 1st rounder on Jefferson because they pissed off one of the best WRs in the league and traded him.

That goof traded a 1 for Sam Bradford and handed the keys to the franchise over to Kirk Cousins.

Other than watching Reagor be terrible in real time, my biggest problem with him busting is that Spielman gets anything over on the Eagles.

They definitely were not going to yank him before yesterday, while they were still in the thick of a playoff run.

But another loss or 2 and I could see it.

If anyone knew Jefferson would be what he has turned out to be, he'd have been a top 5 pick.

I do wonder why the difference between him and Reagor wouldn't have been apparent in pre-draft interviews, though.  To see Jefferson get interviewed he comes off as all business and highly motivated, while Reagor comes off as not so much.

Least shocking news I have read all day.

Now it's time to guess where he would go.

This is going to be a very active week in college football....

Does he follow Riley to USC?  Doubt it as they have some talented QBs on the roster.

Match made in heaven at Ole Miss with Lane Kiffin.

Maybe he goes to Mississippi State to put up huge numbers in Mike Leach's offense.

You wonder what Dabo could get out of him at Clemson. Uiagalelei was very underwhelming in his 1st year as a starter.

UNC is losing Sam Howell.  Could be an attractive destination.

Dark horse school.  Arizona State.

That picture was taken after the ball bounced off his face... so the contact there looks like it was just fine.

The ball didn't bounce off his face, the pick was taken as the ball was arriving, it was DPI as he attempted to tackle reagor before the ball arrived not too mention turning reagors body.

One can hate reagor and still admit it was non called DPI the two aren't exclusive.

 A better receiver probably fights through the illegal contact and still makes the catch but it it was it is.

Jalen Hurts career as basically a rookie vs the NFC East

0-4

67/129  51.9%  869 yards 3 TD's 8 Ints

34 rushes 215 yards 2 TD's 2 Fumbles

I don't see it being anywhere near DPI. Maybe the other one, this one was just a drop. Watch the second angle, he wasn't even touched before the ball got there.

Sure does, but I think he's already a millionaire due to the NIL rules now.

I agree that the run game will take a step back without the threat of Hurts' rushing ability. However, I don't view this as an offense that can produce long-term success against quality competition. First, as many have pointed out, when you get down multiple scores to an above average QB, you're going to need to be able to pass. Second, at some point, the QB is going to get hurt. The Giants basically busted out our defensive scheme from the 2004 NFC Championship game against Vick...and Jalen Hurts is no Michael Vick. Rush 4, give up ground yards, but keep him contained and eventually force the QB to make throws.

For me, the point of putting Minshew in is to judge Sirianni with a more traditional QB who can run his preferred offense. NS adapted to Hurts' limitations very shrewdly, but it's not like we are winning anything this year. Let's see what NS, DeVonta and Quez do with someone who can actually throw the ball. Even if it costs us wins, that information is more valuable to me going into the offseason.

 I’ll throw another Dark horse, UCLA with Chip.  Thompson is a senior and if Chip has gotten past believing he invented football, Rattler would be perfect.
 Depending on how the season goes for Kingsbury, he should be a sleeper for the Oklahoma job.

That's a good one too.  Kid has a Hollywood mentality too so that makes a ton of sense.

Well, that's one angle, but the reasons people are calling for Hurts benching are all over the place.

So I dropped the ball on the predictions this week and screwed some of them up. You gotta take the heat...this is for me to take ownership. It was uncharacteristic of me to have those drops. I gotta put myself in a better position to succeed.

Anyway, prediction winner goes to @greend with a prediction of 15 - 17 Giants.

Bonus prediction winners:

@BigEFly No Slay TD

@FranklinFldEBUpper Eagles D no more than one sack

@Green_Guinness Eagles 175+ yards rushing

@jamiller Reagor has a return to the 38 (although this was benefited by a punt that landed at the 32)

@RememberTheKoy Scott TD

I don’t think that’s what we need. We need someone who can win 50/50 balls.

JJAW is that reciever.

Yeah the one at the goal line wasn't DPI he just let it go right through his hands, super reminiscent if JJAW drop against the lions on a similar play to lose the game.

The previous drop though he was clearly Interfered with before ball arrived.

Also would like to see what the heck happened on the 1st Pick to Watkins.

Some have said Watkins stopped his route to me it looks like before the ball is thrown the DB reaches out and with both his arms pulls on Watkins then is in position to where Watkins would have been, should have been illegal contact but the refs swallowed it

I posted a bootleg all 22 of it a few pages ago. Looks like he both stopped and might have had a hand on him. There was a report that Quez sat on the bench and watched the replay of on the ipad for a few minutes right after, so I tend to think it was more of a miscommunication than anything.
