Punted a bit on Round 1 this year... got 2 more firsts for next year though.  Got good talent despite that.  Frankly, I think that those 3 could be the top 3 picks, even in Round 1.

I don't think I ever mentioned it back then, but when the 'new and improved' EMB was such a massive turd, I contacted Invision and explained to them the horror that we were experiencing. They asked for some contact details to talk to the Eagles, so I emailed Dave and put him in touch with Invision and within a few days, we had the old EMB back (hosted on Invision's servers).

I didn't do it for this, but Invision wound up giving me something like a $1,000 credit (toward the use of their services) as a sort of 'commission' or 'finders fee', since they landed a pretty big NFL contract and I was the person that put them together.  Too bad it wasn't a cash finders fee lol.

Even before the 'upgrade', Dave was touting how 'great' Edwin was. Dave really built him up as a guru or "Internet tech whisperer". So once things went SO badly, the catch all for all things bad naturally became: "Edwin! <_<"

For several years, anytime someone would say that to Dave, he'd still defend Edwin lol.

I don't know if it means much in the grand scheme of things, but we are way later than everyone else by about a week with the 25th. Some teams start in as soon as 3 days.

Buys an extra week for Hurts to get in "Mid-season form”.

I don't think so.  Because Andy understands that the QB has to win from the pocket, even today.  He doesn't run those plays with Mahomes.

Andy Reid always wants to pass.  I just don't think offenses incorporated the number of designed runs that they do now.  I do think it would have impacted McNabb's development.  I could see where they have been a much better team with the kind or RPO/designed QB runs we see being used now.

Andy still doesn't, even with Mahomes.

No trading, cause I refuse to pay for "premium" on the draft network.

Id like it a lot more if it was a CB not named McCreary. He's way too small. Not gonna make it.

Does Denver have a 1st next year?

You can’t have a "complete” offense without having at least an above average passer. It doesn’t even make sense. If your QB can’t make all the throws on time, that literally cuts out parts of an offense, making it incomplete. Wtf are we even talking about anymore.

More workout "swag" from Hurts today

I'm not sure if Hurts being a problem is good or not....

It was the one they traded to the Seahawks.  Two separate trades with the Seahawks got those picks.

I was feeling much better about Hurts and at the end it shows that he worked with Wentz so now I don't feel so good.

If I was him I'd be like "you know you can throw to the left side of the field right" and then cash my check

Back when I took the PAC 12 seriously, I thought De'Anthony Thomas was gonna be a weapon in the NFL. Good times.

Mahomes got injured in 2 different QB runs so he shouldn't.

This isn't a hype video so I don't know.

No trades, no QBs (because they're gonna go way earlier than these mocks have them listed). If I can't trade down I have to take a safety I feel like I have to take one too early at 19, which doesn't feel great.

McNabb did pretty good from 2000 to 2003. 9 games, 327 rushing yards. He didn't become a "passer" until 2004.

Vick went 2-3.

My point on the playoffs is even elite passers can be shut down, Mahomes, Rodgers last year.

You win with an OFFENSE, not a QB. It's not how pretty it looks, it's how consistently effective your offense plays.

That's why I don't care about QB stats, I care about offense stats, how points do you score, how many yards do you gain, how many plays do you run.

You need a great QB to have a great offense.  NFL GMs all around the league disagree with your statement.  Just look at what some teams have been willing to part with as far as draft capital (and even moral integrity) in order to get a top talent at the position.

And you can’t compare Hurts to McNabb.  As limited as McNabb’s passing game was at times, it was light years ahead of Jalen’s.  The Bucs dared him to pass, and he couldn’t.

I realize you enjoy arguing against the popular opinion, but I just don’t see how anyone could feel comfortable with Jalen leading this team long term.

When I saw his name on the photo, I thought damn, he was going to be the next big thing.  But then Tavon Austin was too and I guess Tutu Atwell will be the same.

Well, the Eagles had 0 points in the 4th quarter of the wildcard game and the opponent had 31.

Stats are stats, but I can't help but suspect Hurts being 11-for-31 on throws past the LOS was somehow a contributing factor to that score.

And Watson sucked as bad in his first PO game.

I just see no reason to rush to judgment when the alternatives are so poor - there's not a QB in this draft I'd waste a 1st rd pick on.

Either Hurts improves or he doesn't. Whining about it day after day is a bit boring, don't you think?

As far as Minshew, no rumor of anyone offering a 2nd or 3rd - if he was seen as a legitimate starting QB, Howie's phone would be ringing incessantly.

I don't see anyone in here saying the Eagles have to draft a QB.  The consensus, however, is their current starting QB isn't good enough and there should be an open competition in camp for the job.  If there was an actual open competition between the two players, Minshew would win the job.

Hurts has started 20 NFL games and played in others.  As a 2nd round pick that's more than most QBs get before judgment is rendered.

... but I guess subjecting the Board to fluff posts about the Eagles and Hurts day after day is not.

Which is why no coach should make it a staple of the offense.

Nah, he sucked differently

There's reaching a conclusion, and then there's rushing to make a change.  There's no change to make right now, so we have to sit in sad acceptance.

Regarding Minshew... no one, and I mean no one, has mentioned Minshew as the answer as the long term starter... only that he would facilitate the rest of the offense to be more in line with what Sirianni tried to implement in the beginning of the season last year.
