I'm not fixated on Parker himself but it's obvious Howie & Lurie aren't really trying too hard to win this season.  They also aren't completely going for future because they re-signed Cox.  It's just a confused attempt at mediocrity

The goal is apparently to just make the playoffs.

It's been nice to make the playoffs with 9 wins out 6 Howie playoff seasons but it's also given the team a false sense of competitiveness. They were the 7th best team in NFC and they were a lot closer to 12 than to 4. And they were closer to 15 than to 3

Gives Lurie the false sense of competiveness and convinces him that Howie is doing the right thing.  This division is so weak, making the playoffs isn't nearly the measuring stick it was back in the 1980s or even 1990s.

Starters 25 and under: Hurts (24), Gainwell (23), Smith (24), Watkins (24), Mailata (25), Dickerson (24), Driscoll (25), Sweat (25), Williams (23), McPhearson (24).

Gainwell, McPhearson & Driscoll are starters?  In any case that's really not a good list compared to most other teams. Hurts is a starter out of mismanagement and one of the worst QBs in the league too.

Yeah Howie should really get off this board and get to work

Better hope Hurts makes a miraculous jump because not taking a QB along with not trading back for 2023 picks is a QB death sentence for years otherwise

Meh more than 1 way to skin a cat. Yeah getting an elite starter as a rookie is the ideal but you can also make a argument for building an elite team on both sides of the ball then trying to attract a QB ala the Bucs with Brady or Rams with Stafford or the Broncos with Wilson.

Agreee however I don’t see any more top QBs becoming available for trade anytime soon. That can obviously change very quickly though.

That is why with all the info out there I still think they are going after Pickett in the draft. People may not like it, but to me it would depend where they would get him. If its at 15 or only giving up a late mid pick to move up sure. If they have to give up another 1st or 2nd, not worth the move up. But I still have a gut feeling hes out QB in 2022

Still think its Ridder or Strong if at all. But low probablity of any high qb pick

Leal is an edge?

Not sure why he's listed as an EDGE. He's a DT. But I like the idea of pairing him with more of an NT type like Davis or Jones.

Alot of draft experts think that Leal is one dimensional and doesn't offer much against the run.  Like you said may work out well if paired with an NT

I don't say stuff like this often, but...

If you slammed the 2018 Eagles for the Golden Tate trade and are now slamming the 2022 Eagles for not making the DeVante Parker trade, you are a moron.

Yeah I think a pairing like that would work out well. Cox is getting old, Hargrave only has like a year left on his contract, and Williams is a DE/DT. We need some serious reinforcement at DT over the next year or 2.

Fishbowl market.  I think if Wilson and Watson refused to waive so will other QBs

I’m totally out on Jordan Davis and Derek Stingley. Reports about lack of effort really scare me. I read people were "proud” of Davis for getting ready for the combine. But this a multi-million dollar job interview. I’m just worried that after he gets the job, he’ll stop trying again. Drafting someone for a 40 time is beyond stupid

Jordan Davis could be the 2020s Albert Hainesworth? What concerns me about Stingley is his best year was his freshman year and yes, I know there was an injury in there.

I'm sure they will, but QBs want to go where they can win and where they can get paid. Having a lot of young reasonably priced young talent helps with both.

That’s one of my many concerns with Malik Willis.  His stats were down, much like Howell’s …. but he’s still likely to be a top-10 pick to either CAR, SEA, or PIT trading up

Leal plays both spots inside and outside, but he’s better as a DT for sure.  Part of the reason his stock took a tumble is that he’s not dominant at either position …. plus the marijuana bust from December

Meh.  Hardly the same thing.  What did Parker get traded for?  Late round pick?  Also, Tate was a middle of the season trade, if I remember correctly.  And for a 3rd rounder.  Again, not the same.  I would have been cool with getting Parker for a "late round” pick.  But not a needle mover.  Not with this QB.

Parker and a 2022 5th for a 2023 3rd I believe.

Drafting WR in round 1 is pretty much a necessity now. Unbelievable they’ll have to do that 3 years in a row.

Parker got traded for a 3rd, not a late round pick.
