If the Eagles don't get DK in a trade you can blame that on the contract he's looking for.  DK's contract is going to be RIDICULOUS and the Eagles can't afford it, nor should they look to pay a WR that much money.

According to that logic, if Metcalf were already an Eagle then they should trade him away. Which no one, including yourself, would support.

Sometimes you have to play great players big money. It's how it works.

Nah.  If he were already an Eagle, then his extension would have been accounted for in their cap planning.

Jeremy Fowler says NFL execs believe Metcalf can be had for the right price. Unless it’s something absurd like two 1st round picks, if it’s true and Howie misses out on him, then they deserve to be cursed with awful WRs for the rest of eternity.

Dude was mocked for missing out on Metcalf for multiple years, now is his chance to right that mistake.

The time to get DK was in the draft.

His neck issues remain long term concerns.  And despite his physical talent, his upside is limited by his proven failure to run crisp routes all over the field and status as a 1 trick pony on deep routes.

That's all good enough for 2nd round pick on a rookie deal.  It's a whole other problem when you have to trade draft value for him AND give him a big contract.

Howie missed.  The train has left the station on this one.

It really is odd that people seem to gloss over this. We moved him way down the board due to medicals, so it makes little sense to now use high picks and a ton of cap space on him.

How do we know his neck remains a concern?

DK is a product of Wilson's style of play, a strong armed QB who buys time for a big WR with speed to get deep.

I suspect he won't look as good in other schemes.

Perfect example of "buy high," giving up asset and a big contract to a player almost certain to disappoint.

It's not that he won't be a good receiver, just not an elite WR, but he'll cost like an elite WR.

Nah bro he just fell because of his 3 cone time 🙄

Starters 25 and under: Hurts (24), Gainwell (23), Smith (24), Watkins (24), Mailata (25), Dickerson (24), Driscoll (25), Sweat (25), Williams (23), McPhearson (24).

Do you actually believe the falsehoods you post constantly.

Gainwell isn't starting.  Driscoll has been a backup his entire time here, aka not a starter.  Williams isn't a starter, rotational DE/DT.   McPhearson isn't the starter yet either.

So, Hurts, Smith, Watkins, Mailata and Dickerson.  And quite frankly, Hurts remains the starter by default, not because he's earned it.

Berry:  Howie, where do you have Hutchison ranked?

The always truthful this time of year, Roseman:  Mid 20s to 30s.  Probably a second round pick.  Trust me, I never lie.

Erroneous

Fowler also apparently said Eagles focused on Stephon Gilmore. Not sure I buy that.

Where did Gilmore end up?

Played some WR for Houston with mixed results this past season. Played outside corner but at his height, I don’t see him as an outside CB in the NFL.

Still free agent

Don't know. His wife said the Eagles contacted them.

If they're truly interested, I'm hoping they're only willing to bring him in on a small, cheap deal as his market thins. He's old and I don't want them breaking the bank.

That guy isn't anywhere near a Dante Hall. Pretty ridiculous

He had an unstable fracture in his neck requiring a surgery, presumably at least a single level fusion.  The cervical spine is a sequence of several tiny interlocking joints...an unstable fracture there with a fused joint has different implications than a broken ankle.  If you fuse one level, the risk of an adjacent level going bad within a few years is fairly high.  A second surgery could potentially be a career ender.

So he absolutely might get through a long NFL career with no problems...or his career could be snatched away suddenly, and unpredictably.  It's a complete gamble.

You don't know if his neck is an issue. That's your speculation and uneducated speculation at that. Let the doctors worry about that stuff.

Yup he's not a complete receiver but he wants to be paid like one and a team will probably give him top money

Like I said I'd rather trade for AJ brown who is a more complete receiver.

Off-topic: Someone broke into my apartment last night and stole my PS5 while I was home (I was in my room at the time). After filing a report, I found out the same person also broke into another apartment in my complex.

Has this unfortunate incident happened to anyone else? I’m a bit shaken up and am having trouble processing it. It’s pretty scary to think that someone easily broke into my apartment without me knowing. I am grateful that they only stole my PS5, though, because I know it could’ve gone a lot worse.

Also, no prints were found, as it seems he wiped everything down—BUT, this dumb SOB dropped his ID on my kitchen floor. I’m hopeful it’s as simple as finding the guy on the ID, but I’m not holding my breath.

Anyway, that was my Sunday morning. I hope you guys had a better one.

Sorry to hear that.  Always stressful for a little while at home after something like that happens.  Invest in good locks.  And he's either a dumb SOB who somehow dropped his ID, or he just intentionally dropped the ID of some other poor SOB whose wallet he stole.

Fans do understand why DK Metcalf isn’t a perfect route runner right?   There’s a reason Megatron who was drafted in 2007 wasn’t a good runner until 2010, guys that big and that fast can’t stop on a dime and turn. Johnson eventually was the anomaly, but he also wasn’t built like Metcalf.   TBF, that’s on Metcalf, I can’t believe anyone told him he needed to look like body builder to be a successful WR.
As for his neck, he’s one of the guys you can  trust to have fully strengthened it, he was cleared for football 2 months after his surgery, to put that in perspective, shoulder surgeries are typically 3 months before they’re cleared. ACL and Achilles now are about 8-10 months,  and with Landon Dickerson, it’s just as likely that he’s an ACL surgery away from his career being over.

I had someone attempt to break into my house through a side window. It just so happened that it was my birthday weekend and I had 4-5 friends in town and three of them were sleeping in our living room. Whomever it was either climbed in and saw them or saw them after opening the window. Either way, he decided it wasn’t the house to rob.

The only reason we knew about it was because my neighbor came over and said someone stole a chair off their front porch and put it by the window to help climb in. My friend said he woke up freezing cold and noticed the window was wide open so he closed it.

We got lucky on that one. Who knows what that person’s intentions were.
