I'm with you. Watson to me is the only viable trade opportunity that makes sense, provided he won't be suspended for the year.

If there is charges to be filed now that the police and FBI are involved, strikes me as odd they have not done so yet.  The longer this goes on with no charges, it seems this will just be a settlement and that's it.

I think the market for watson is going to be about five or six teams. But I think realistically there’s only three teams I see making the move. The 6 teams i could see are eagles, broncos, giants, Steelers, Carolina and browns.

The Steelers already put out a report they’re not willing to give up multiple first round picks to get a quarterback. So that kind of makes me think they’re out as a serious suitor.

The Giants owner has apparently made it clear  he doesn’t want Watson according to the beat writers. Maybe that changes when all this gets settled. But at this point take it for what it’s worth.

So that really leaves you with the Eagles, Broncos, Carolina and the Browns.

The Browns make sense because I think they’re a quarterback away from being a legitimate contender in the afc.

The Broncos are similar to the Browns but I think they have less talent than the Browns roster has. But with a coaching change and if they hire someone like Brian Flores it put them in the driver’s seat

The issue with Carolina is they are stuck in Sam Darnold fifth year option. It’s exercises and guaranteed. So if they’re going to make any trade with Houston they’re going to have to do a Matt Stafford type of trade. Where they pay for Matt Stafford (here watson) and then also pay the Texans to take on Sam Darnold. Not so sure Carolina is willing to pay that price.

I'd have to think Washington would get involved, no?

Against the worst division in football.  We are not going to have the 3rd easiest strength of schedule next year.

Honestly our 2022 opponents could end up being very difficult. There's a bunch that need just a couple pieces here and there

I'm not looking forward to facing Rodgers or Henry

Looking at the Josh Allen to Hurts comparison, which is laughable, just look at these two pre-draft scouting reports:

Hurts

Allen

Lol.

Granted Allen isn't a 2nd year player but Hurts has barely improved from that scouting report

Didn't Berry emphatically commit to Baker as the starter for next year?

First one is a TEAM accomplishment, not a personal one.  Took the easiest schedule in the NFL and barely broke 0.500.   Zero wins against teams with winning records (yes, I know about the Saints game... with Trevor Siemen at QB.   Trevor started 4 games for the Saints... they lost all 4.  So, eliminate the Saints from that list.)   Strike one.

Improved how?   Be specific.    And please don't reference how many systems he's been in, that's an excuse, not an accomplishment.  Did he become a better pocket passer?  Or did he exploit his legs more?

Leadership...   Not being a leader disqualifies a QB, being a leader doesn't automatically earn you the job.   Strike two.

Work ethic and drive aren't accomplishments, they are traits.   Good for him.  I have a great work ethic and drive as well.   Should I be the QB?    Strike three.

So, you have nothing, or do you want to actually talk about what he's done, on the field, to EARN the job.   What does he do on the field better than Gardner Minshew that negates Minshew from having the right to compete for the job against Hurts?

Over Hurts? Hell yeah!

Yeah i forgot about them.

Jalen Hurts sucks.

Jalen Reagor sucks.

No more Jalens.

Reflecting back 2 days later....

Not our game, we completely sucked.

But, I've never been happier with a network broadcast than CBS and their showcasing of the the Dallas fans at the end of the game. That gave us meme material for years to come!

I'm barely 6' but I have a true competitive nature, and I can get super freaky. Put me in coach.

The Philadelphia Not-Jalens has a nice ring to it

Not sure they can survive trading for him, considering their own sexual harassment scandals and ongoing investigation. No way.

I believe his fifth your option was exercise so they’re going to have the same type of situation  that Carolina has with darnold. However I actually think baker Mayfield would be attractive to another organization. I don’t think you would just have to dump him off. I think they could get a decent pick for him.

I'd take Jalen Ramsey in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't.

Well, I would, but at the cost it would take to get him and the rest of our defense being dogshit, it wouldn't be worth it.

Counterpoints:

1. He fits the culture

2. They have made it clear they couldn't care less about his issues

How is your SWAG, and have you ever dodged falling fans and railing ??

If I were to write a scouting report for hurts it would still look the same, just take out the personality issues and copy and paste

As for Allen, that scouting report was spot in his biggest weakness in college was his decision making and his lack of competition.

He had all the traits one looks for in a franchise QB, ideal size, big arm, quick release, competitor, durable.

Hurts has two of those but so does Elon musk so...

Yeah, the "get freaky" comment. 🤦🏻‍♂️

My SWAG is a tad low to be fair. I'm a 40 year old suburban white dad. But, I don't wear white New Balances yet.

I have never dodged people falling from the sky, but I am a pretty gifted writer and think I could absolutely dominate with follow-up emails.

I think they roll with Baker, and if they do target someone it will be a veteran like Wilson or Rodgers, but we'll see.

I think CAR is our main competition still, maybe DEN, but they'd be the favourites to land Rodgers.

I think opticallly you would assume that. But I think Daniel Snyder would still be trying to do it would give it up to do so.

The problem that’s gonna come along is I don’t think Deshaun Watson’s gonna drop is no trade clause to go to another dysfunctional organization. he’s coming from one he believes is a dysfunctional organization. Maybe Snyder convinces him by saying he can have a big voice in what they do. Snyder is stupid like that.
