Keeps you on the edge of your seat jump scares and you can't sleep at night =horror

Keeps you on the edge of your seat " that's effed up" and "oh sheet" moments = thriller

Maybe not for every audience though (aka watching w the wife) as there is some heavy lesbian action throughout.  But in terms of a fun, at times ridiculous "scary" movie I really enjoyed it.

Whoah, wait a sec.  Alien is definitely sci-fi horror.  Maybe the most definitive sci-fi horror ever.  Some of the sequels cross over to the Predator sci/action category but the original is definitely horror.  You could even make a plausible case for Alien being the greatest horror movie of all time (I don't think so but it's within shooting range).

Lol I'm mostly just messing around. You are right with alien though. In my mind there is difference between horror and thriller to me anyways

I think if you found the right movie, you wouldn't even notice after the first 15min. Once you're immersed in the story, the subtitles don't even bother you.

I would think so.  I agree with Dawkins4prez that it fits with the other movies he mentioned.

I saw A Serbian Film as the fifth movie I watched that day at a film festival when it first on the festival circuit.  Walked in knowing absolutely nothing about it.  The theater was about 2/3 full when it started.  I'd guess about 20ish people walked out early.

Just saw this and the 2nd one a few weeks back.  I really like the 1st one, especially for the shock factor.

I haven't seen the remake, but the original one in the 80s was great...At least I thought it was back then.

Last House on the Left (Wes Craven version) is another good shock movie.
