@mattwill was very much a part of that celebration as well. He and I were beating a drum for Peters for a month before the trade was made.

I confess i was skeptical of that trade

Because we did them all last year and didn't have much left to do this year. We were basically the Saints last year.

Yes, and it's nice they aren't on that list for once and hopefully they aren't for a while, that'll mean eventually they will be back in good cap standing.

Also, the contrarian is at it again:

Does he still think a QB who is an MVP candidate can be signed to a $35M/yr extension?

No doubt.  That SWAG ain't gonna pay for itself and rent is due.

I don’t have much to base this on but I feel at the time that was a pretty big trade package. Outside of a few outliers (Hershel Walker/Ricky Williams) there wasn’t as many trades with multiple picks and first round picks like there is today.

What a bad take. He's just a contrarian.

RTK will say he was second in the MVP race just like everyone did with 2010 when Brady was the unanimous winner.

My apologies for conversing about how we acquired one of our greatest players of all time. Much better to discuss JJAW and Reagor.

It’s a bit to shill his isshy bootleg merchandise. No one would seriously make comments like Hurts is a better football player than Brady or Mahomes or that Hurts is the most important player to their team in the NFL.

And why we have 59 million in dead cap this year compared to the Saints 34 million

Because Howie thought he'd be rebuilding, good time to clear out dead cap.

I think he expected a 3 year turnaround schedule, not 1 year.

Foolish to draft 2 QBs back to back in Round1 and Round2... I know that, and I don't even do fantasy football.

Will Holden

One of the greatest actors of the 20th century, and still getting tryouts for NFL teams more than 20 years after his death …..

truly inspiring, never mind noteworthy

I haven’t played Fantasy Football in years, but everything I’ve seen on Twitter, ESPN, and  other nonsensical outlets that Hurts is a first round pick when you consider his rushing yards and TD’s.

@LeanMeanGM season record of 12-5

Western Michigan is no match for the Spartans. Meh. I don't know why I expected anything else.
