Reminds me of that episode of M*A*S*H where Winchester was worked up because his sister was going to marry "beneath their social class", and Klinger told him "repeat after me; olive skin makes good kin"

Mash was before my time, but that’s funny

Several teams have tried this with success: Brady to TB, Stafford to the Rams, and Broncos traded for Russell.  Plug in a quality QB with the strong roster to win SB.  If Hurts is not the QB to win SB, the Eagles could have gone the same way.  Granted, this would be a short-termed approach.  Developing a young QB to a high level is the formula of a winning team for many seasons.  The challenge is to find that QB with the right attributes to develop.

There's more but I'm pulling from the Hurts thread

lol.

Name an Eagles player I didn't defend. The funny thing is, there are a couple, but defending players against arguments I don't agree with is kind of my thing. People that don't believe players can improve often have weak arguments to support the claim. They chime in all offseason, parroting the same stuff repeatedly and liking all of each other's posts.

I don't often make predictions, but for you guys, here's one: Hurts will have a very good season proving that he is an improving passer and capable of helping this team win games with his arm as well as his legs. By the end of the season, all the doubters will have to decide to either double down and excuse the season as a fluke or they will make a single post saying they have to eat crow and then pretend like they didn't make 2000 posts each over the last 6 months saying it wasn't possible and couldn't be done and that Josh Allen is a unicorn ...

Hoping Hurts follows the same path. We should know soon. If he is the same QB at the end of the season, then it's probably time to move on.

Eagles value QB over any other position.  If they are looking for a QB next season they will be targeting a veteran QB in a trade first and foremost.

You don't agree, that's fine.  I don't agree with hardly any of your opinions.  No need to keep going in circles about it.

If Sirianni wants to move on from Hurts because he's not an effective passing QB, it would seem like Lamar's not a better choice.  I think they are more likely to look at Stroud or Revis.  The only other possibilty maybe something like a late round pick for Zach Wilson.  If that's a trade, they're not adding him as the default starter.

I hope you're right but man if you go to any Jalen Hurts thread on any social platform and go to comments...it's not pretty.

If you go to any social platform and go to the comments... its not pretty... ever.

Broncos also did it with Peyton

Brady is a free agent next season.  Since Giselle is divorcing him, he will have no reason to retire.

One of the worst I’ve seen lately (terms of actual story and not just about a player) with the eagles was faster desean said what he did. the amount of people defending him and using antisemitic rhetoric was eye opening and sad.

You can afford to give him a quarter though.  Have a heart.  In fact, I'll match that quarter.   Now, you know what we got?

Idk with the way 50 cent looked at the super bowl last year and with inflation he’s more like 75 cents. I’ll chip in a quarter

That's actually pretty awesome

There are several reasons people like Hurts but there is one main one.  He's the best option at the moment.  If this past offseason the Eagles had the top pick in the draft and a Trevor Lawrence type were there then most people would have wanted Hurts replaced with that guy.  If the Eagles got Russel Wilson this past offseason fans would have loved it.  But in all the realistic scenarios Hurts was the best option or at least the better options weren't clear cut. So most fans rally around Hurts. It's really that simple

You're not drafting Richardson for what he is (although that's still good). You're drafting him for what he could. A fast, athletic, strong QB who has a ++ arm and will have SEC experience is going to be drafted very high because of the tools. His accuracy/arm motion is also fine. The issue is processing/reading defenses, because he hasn't had to do it a ton.

That probably makes you feel a little funny in the pants, doesn't it Greg Lugaynus?

You can always tell who watches players and who doesn't.

I bet they also showed clips of Hurts and wide open Smith

"Late that Wednesday night, the Rams called Robinson. He was deep in talks with the Eagles, two sources told The Athletic, but the Rams asked him to postpone his final decision long enough to get on a video call with McVay and Stafford. The coach and quarterback showed Robinson clips of Beckham that they had hustled to put together for the occasion showing how the passing offense eventually evolved around him and Kupp.
