They definitely did that. It also explains the whole "running qbs suck" and "rushing tds don't count" troll jobs we have suffered through for months.

Having said that Strong was a legit college prospect, strong arm really good college production.

The knee injury really dropped his draft status.

It's not like he was some scrub college QB no one had ever heard of and got hyped up 

Even multiple reporter's were miffed at what the heck the eagles were doing with him and why they refused to play him???

It's still a mystery that should be more clear after tomorrow or Wednesday when PS are filled.

Last year we had a talented, strong armed QB who we cut really early on in Jamie Newman. I dont know if he is even still in the league.

Carson Strong though had very positive early reports in rookie camp about picking things up quickly. And then all of a sudden, he started looking horrible, supposedly. And they wouldnt even allow him to throw a pass in pre-season. Its very weird. 

I wonder if he fizzles out the same as Newman or if he sticks around the league for a while.

I doubt anyone would invest a roster spot in him at this point.  Who is going to burn a roster spot on a QB who doesn't know a thing about their offense?...a team that wants to develop him.  And who is going to want to develop a QB that a team without clarity at the starting position didn't even feel the need to let practice?

I think he'll end up with a lot of PS opportunities but no roster options.

Why would they do that.  Some harmless fun pumping up an UDFA who at best was always going to be stashed on the practice squad.

Minshew has better production than Hurts in the dumpster fire in Jacksonville.  When he started mid season, the offense didn’t miss a beat.  I also line in Spokane WA, so I have been a huge Minshew supporter for years.

Also, you joined in this discussion very late. RTK has most definitely trolled with facetious posts about Hurts as well. On top of that he had it all coming after numerous race baiting posts. Hes no better than any of the group that did it just to troll.

I was never ready to die on a hill for this guy, but I was definitely wrong about him if he couldn't even get this far.

Now...I don't want to venture further onto that hill to go die, but something is really odd about this situation.  Not only did he not play in PS, he barely played in PRACTICE.  If the stat I heard is correct (and I didn't fact check it myself), it's the fewest passes an offseason rostered QB has ever thrown in PS for the Eagles.  And I can't even assume that he sucked in practice because he didn't practice.  Do I think he's going to turn him into a starter for someone else?  No, not at all.  But I don't understand why they paid all that extra cash to basically not even get a look.

Kinne didn’t get a lot of snaps and most weren’t at QB.  But I agree, odd camp for Strong.   But they also had him in the QB room and no doubt in the playbook.  Perhaps he struggled in the playbook.  A lot may be presumed based on whether they bring him on the PS.  

I did not troll on Strong.  I just had real doubts about his play in that he tends to stare down receivers. 

It may well be that Sinnett surprised them and they felt he displayed more promise. 
 
As to the money, they paid Elliss $240,0000 and he was released as an NFI.  As JR said, peanuts.
