Harper has come out and said he wants him back, so if he's willing to play ball he'll be back.Problem is at what price and what length? Some team with money to burn could give him something ridiculous until he's 40. As I said yesterday the next problem if he stays then becomes not having money to put into building a team around him, which is the problem in the playoffs.
May 13, 20251 yr Problem with Kepler is he’s essentially what marsh was last year but on pace to actually be worse (although less Ks). They needed more than older version of marshKepler this year.231/.320/.731 on pace for around 113Ks, 63 BBs, 21 HRs and 59 rbiMarsh last year.249/.328/747 50BB 154Ks, 16 HRs and 60 RBI

They can easily afford to pay Schwarber on a 3-4 year deal. The question is will the young talent (Painter, Crawford and Miller) be able to adequately step in on low cost contracts?

I'd trade him personally and get a haul. They never will but that would be a Howie move.

They’d likely receive a top and mid level prospect and some MLB ready depth. A decent return but nothing franchise altering in the short term. Further, if the Phillies are solidly in a playoff race, there is zero chance they trade Schwarber, nor should they.

They should try to do the same deal with Luzardo that they did with Nola when he was at that stage of his career. I believe the Phillies bought out like 1 or 2 years of his arbitration years but gave him a 4-year deal with a club option for the 5th. Depends on who is agent is though. If it's that d-head Boras, forget about it.
May 14, 20251 yr Again I’d trade Nola and just go with luzardo, Ranger, Sanchez, wheeler and painter/abel/walker as 5th starter. Harder to trade him when his ERA is damn near 6 but I’d try selling a team on he can fix his issues

May 14, 20251 yr Why is Nola even in this game still. Off day tomorrow and you have a long reliever in Walker and didn’t use your bullpen much in game 1
