May 15, 20251 yr Also - you guys are hilarious even thinking that Nola will be traded. Look how long they shuffled that bum Walker out to the mound last year before they finally sent his ass to the pen - Nola ain't going anywhere. Your best bet is to hammer the over on runs scored by the other team when he's on the mound

That takes a toll. The IP people used to prop up that contract was funny. At some point those innings would accumulate and catch up to him. Especially entering his 30s. He might not be super reliant on high speed stuff but his stuff is still suffering. His fastball is sitting on average at 91.8. Ricky B said it best, a couple years ago he could rely on 93-95 range. So that’s dropped. Then his movement and placement as dropped a touch. So when both happen now you got a problem and the accumulation of IP and age comes to forefront.I’d add with 2 strikes this year he can’t get guys put away like he did just a year ago. His K per 9 is better but it should be significant higher considering how many more times he’s facing guys with 2 strikes. Opponents batting average with 2 strikes is .229. A year ago it was .146. That’s a .083 jump. That’s significant. It’s partially why his hits per 9 is at 10.7 when it was 8.5 and 8.3 the previous two years. His HR rate is 2 even previous couple years it was at or below 1.5. His Ks per 9 still looks good like previous two years but Ks to walk ratio is the lowest it’s been since 2019. His WHIP is significantly higher than any time since 2016. It’s why he like his K rate is good still but really with how many 2 strike at bats he’s getting and it should be much higher but more guys are getting on baseImo this started in September last year. He had a 4.91 ERA and in his last 7 starts (including playoffs) where he didn’t go 6 IP in 4 of the last 7 starts. If you include this year 9 of his last 16 starts he hasn’t gotten to 6 IP. He’s also given up 4+ runs in 8 of his last 16 starts. He gets 10/5 rights so he can reject any trade. But frankly i don’t think if it goes really bad or even if it doesn’t that he’d just reject a trade. I think it would have to be a place he wants to go to. That said they’ll never do it and trot him out there trying to prove a point.
May 15, 20251 yr I’d add to nola i love when twitter people state well atlanta was giving 6 years so we had too. No you didn’t. It’s never smart to give a SP entering his 30s a 7 year contract with the amount of innings he had pitched. Should’ve been 4 with an option for a 5th.Secondly it was a Phillies reporter that leaked that story. was such a BS leak this out there by Nola’s camp/agent or a Phillies source to justify the 7 years when the only other starting pitcher on the market that got 5+ years was a 25 year old Yamamoto. The market showed no one SP was getting that. I bet a ton of money that 6 year was a Fugazi 6th year like a a team option by the Braves. Heck the 5th year might have been a mutual option with a low buy out.Furthermore fried WAR over the last 6 years 22.2 is better than Nola’s 19.9. Heck last 3 years even missing half the year in 2023 is better than Nola (12 vs. 11.6). The report was Braves wanted no part in going over 5 years for fried. There’s no way the Braves were guaranteeing a pitcher with more IP on the arm and analytics with WAR of an inferior player. It’s why i laugh at the report that got put out there that Atlanta was going 6. It was a fugazi 6th year and maybe even 5th
May 16, 20251 yr Apparently they were having him throw more change ups than usual so he can work on it
May 16, 20251 yr Nola is fine. Guy is a good pitcher, he just needs it to be 102 degrees, 95% humidity, have 14 runs of support, and be pitching at home.
May 16, 20251 yr With how pedestrian Kepler has been and marsh just being bad i think it’s going to be Crawford time by July if it continues

This team could use some young talent in the mix, both offense and pitching staff. Tired of seeing Marsh out there too, wish they could get rid of that bum.

I gave the stats/projections yesterday Kepler is on pace to be marsh of 2024 but lower avg, OBP, OPS and less RBI. But will strikeout less and slightly more walks. They spent 10 mil to get an older more expensive version of marsh

I F'n cant stand DD.
