You knew they weren’t doing crap today after they scored six runs yesterday. Also Bryce Harper quit swinging at the first Fing pitch.

Like the idea that Turner being in between Schwarber and Harper makes a difference in the postseason if they’re gonna bring in a lefty or not is ridiculously stupid. Turner splits this year are that he’s horrible against left-handed pitching. So they’re bringing in a lefty and it doesn’t matter because Turner’s gonna be an easy outVs lhp: .216/.301/.304/.605Vs. RHP: .254/.299/.419/.718

They are hitting .271 which is 3rd in all of baseball. But when you watch them enough, you know how it actually is. I made the analogy the other week if they played seven games in a week, they would hit really well in 1-2 of those games. Like astronomical type numbers. And then the next five days they’re gonna be bad or just atrocious like they were tonight. So the numbers get skewed to be better than what they actually are. For example, the 2023 NLCS. They were bad with runners in scoring position outside a game 2. Were a scratching 5-7 in game 2. They managed to win 2 other games in that series, but the reality is when you’re that bad with runners in scoring position 6 out of the 7 games you’re probably gonna lose more often than you’re gonna win. And that’s exactly what happened.

It’ll be down to 1 game and Dbacks own the tiebreaker. Furthermore Saturdays game would be a bullpen game for the Phillies. If you need wheeler to win Sunday to get in means wheeler can’t be your game 1 starter for the WC. Would essentially be on 2 days rest. Heck he’d be in short rest for Thursday’s game 2 too. I want them to win and make it. But frankly the deserve what’s coming to them. They’d essentially have to start Sanchez game 1 then potentially wheeler game two on short rest if they lose game 1.

Watched the first two games of the series, for a team on the verge of clinching a playoff spot and could happen any day of this homestand, there were a bunch of empty seats. Most of the fan base knows this team is cooked. organizationally not making the moves or having Dave continue to make poor moves has shifted a majority of fan approach. Like 2-3 years ago that place is rocking and everyone is excited even if they were slumping or backing in to a playoff spot. Feels like they’ve become what the sixers did. when everyone got sick of the team and knew they weren’t going anywhere so less invested. Fans are becoming apathetic. Which is worse than anger. At least anger means they still care. Becoming apathetic means you just find something else to spend your money and time on.

September 25Sep 25 Well positive side is it’ll actually force them to have a different Fing cleanup hitter
