Just thinking out loud. I think MLB should push back the trade deadline until the middle of August. They got rid of the waiver trade deadline that used to be August 31. So if you push this back two weeks, then you will have more sellers in the market. at the end of July, there’s still teams that believe they’re in it as got hot after AS break for 2 weeks. Then by the middle of August when they hit the dog days and that boost from the initial All-Star break wears off as it’s been a month. Most of these teams are hot for 2 weeks then go back to what they’ve been and they will realize they are not. It’ll open up a bigger market for deals and like the NBA i think baseball gets a lot of eyes from trades and moves.

At this rate, by August, Painter, Abel, and Miller might be not be worth so much...

Eh i think fans look at prospects changing over a month period of time. Like painter. Most teams scouting don’t. already made their mind up on prospects that they love or hate based on watching them over the years and really that season with how they believe they’ll ultimately finished product when they get to their peak. unless they have injury concerns. People forget Carlos Carrasco had a 5.18 ERA in LVH they year he was dealt for cliff Lee. Andrew Knapp had a 4 era. And Donald was hitting .236 in LVH that year. In the Oswalt trade Gose wasn’t exactly killing it in Reading that year. Cosart in the pence deal had a 4.12 Era previous year and close to 4 the year he was traded.

I was just thinking the same thing

Nick is going to go yard tonight. Ozzy is gone

Catchers interference again. This is unreal

Name a more iconic duo than the Phillies and scoring on a catchers interference

Wow Kepler hit a homerun

A Robert Person sighting. Good to see him again

More idiotic base running

Sanchez has been a real nice find. Never thought he’d turn out to be this solid

Yeah he’s an absolute stud

Nice work Sanchez

Sanchez was filthy tonight. He’s unstoppable at home.

Also, Stott should be benched for a few games. I think something is wrong with him.

I’d probably send Stott down. He still has options. I think he needs to gain some confidence down in triple A then bring him back up. Also can work on changing his stance. Kruk alluded to them having his bat more on his shoulder but it’s better to work on that in the minors and get some confidence with it then on the fly and in a platoon

Topper said Ross hurt his back in Sundays game in between innings where he "stepped in a hole on the mound” and is then going to miss 15 games because of that. You expect me to believe that? s-o-f-capital T!
