Obviously the brewers are playing their best baseball right now. However i also think they are an awful matchup for the Phillies. Peralta, woodruff and misiorowski are as good of a 1-2-3 in baseball and can really come close to matching the Phillies starters. Add on their bullpen is better. Their offense has scored more runs than the Phillies but a lot of their stuff is skewed cause they really playing better over the last 2 months and weren’t early. I’d add they don’t strikeout much and put it in play which is issues for our defense.

Meh who really cares about the all star game. He still got his bonus it doesn’t matter anymore. If anything it gives him extra motivation to go out and dominate which he’s continuing. That’s what I care about

well ok then

Yeah, Sanchez is like 1B and Wheeler 1A. Sanchez is that good this year... just a hair behind Zack statistically. I knew he was good last year but didn't expect him to be this good so far this year.

Actually outside of those two, assuming Ranger is gone next year and still not sure if Nola will bounce back to a decent 3, this starting rotation isn't going to be as dominant as it has been. Not sure what you have yet in Painter either as he's not doing great right now in AAA. Abel will likely be gone at the trade deadline. Hopefully Walker doesn't make his way back into the starting 5 next year... guy should be a write off at this point. Luzardo is a career 4 ERA guy, not terrible but more like a 4/5 in your rotation.

If he gets traded I’m the offseason i wonder if jt leaves if they’d make a push for him

I doubt he wanted a possible concussion vs trying to break up his throw and it went poorly.

I like kwan but i don’t he is the type of hitter you give up big time prospects for. I’d prefer a middle of the order power guy if you are going to do so

Impressive inning by Luzardo

One thing about him - when he implodes he REALLY implodes

Luzardo is a mental mess

Luzardo another great Dave move…

Luzardo gonna be in the pen in October with Nola as the 4.

Won’t matter if luzardo is in the pen or not if he implodes as soon as he has to throw from the stretch

He’d be a great add to this lineup and outfield for the next few years. He also hits in the playoffs in the past. This lineup needs hitters. Sure we all want a .300 avg 30 homerun guy but I’ll also take a great defender and .300 hitter low strikeout guy all day. He has 35 strikeouts this year. Think We had 35 strikeouts yesterday

I would love kwan more if we were just replacing Brandon marsh with kwan. The fact of the matter is you still have marsh in centerfield who stinks. And you still have a massive problem with power from the right side. He is a left-handed bat. Which is already a problem with the lineup. So you’re still going to have the lack of protection behind Schwarber and Harper in the playoffs and allow for teams to use LHP heavy cause of the lineup. teams will pitch around them to face Castellanos and Alec Bohm. You really needed somebody for the last 2 1/2 years to protect those two guys to force them to have to pitch to those two guys in the playoffs. Castellanos when hot can be that but god only knows if he is ice cold or red hot then

Also i think kwan is going to get far more at the deadline as it’s a sellers market then if you just did it in the offseason. He’s not worth Crawford, miller or painter to acquire. He’s good not great. I’d this we’re giving up someone like simply Abel I’d do it. But it’s not. If I’m giving up a Crawford or a miller i want someone who’s capable of protecting Harper and schwarber. Also if we didn’t have Crawford tearing it up in the minors who eventually projects into like a kwan type hitter.

Here's why it matters to me. It is incomprehensibly damning of Dombrowski.

Their lineup against the Mets when they were eliminated last year:

P: Wheeler, Sanchez, Ranger, Nola

C. Realmuto

1b. Harper

2b. Stott

SS. Turner

3b. Bohm

OF: Rojas/Castellanos/Marsh

deadline additions: useless

After a full offseason, their projected lineup for October if no deadline deal:

P: Wheeler, Sanchez, Ranger, Nola

C. Realmuto

1b. Harper

2b. Stott

SS. Turner

3b. Bohm

OF: Rojas/Castellanos/Marsh/Kepler (if he's not DFA)

Bullpen addition: Romano

That's an abject failure. Honestly, Daryl Morey is laughing at that.

While I agree that Dave Dombrowski did a terrible job in the off-season and basically the deadlines last couple of years. the biggest issue Luzardo has is now every time somebody gets on base he is god awful and out of the stretch. You can move him to the bullpen for the playoffs. It’s not gonna make a matter if he can’t fix pitching out of the stretch. He will be useless unless he gets 1-2-3 inning. So if he’s a starter or RP he’s doomed to fail if he doesn’t fix that issue

I believe that was JT’s first homer since May 21 at Colorado
