Frankly Adell should be cheap he hasn’t been as good as last year. I actually think in a winning place he might see a jump. I imagine playing for the angels knowing you have no chance every single year puts you in a bad mental state

July 19Jul 19 I’d also point out if the Phillies score 2 runs or less today, it would be the 7th time in 14 starts. 5 of the 7 starts were with Nola and Rangel on the mound

Today might be true however Nola the last 3 starts kept them in games and they still sucked (which those are 3 of the 7 starts). Some of this is their offense sucks

It'll take more than 2 decent starts and an average one to change that mindset. We say the team shouldn't have those thoughts about their teammate, but theyre human beings.

So i don’t think that theory really works as much as people think for him. It’s more their lineup is wildly inconsistent andclearly still missing a RH bat behind Harper and schwarberI’d think that way but if nola goes out and keeps you in the game at that point you should be doing more than scoring an average of 1.3 runs over his last 3 starts where’s he’s given them a massive chance in every one of those games. Meanwhile when he wasn’t pitching well they were scoring the most runs for him of any SP. if he’s battling and giving you a chance then can stand to see the offense do something. Facts are Harper, Bohm, marsh have been brutally bad this month. Hill came back down to Earth. They don’t play Crawford except as a platoon. Jt is cooked. Their lineup isn’t very good especially when half the guys aren’t doing anything right nowAlso we face some bad pitchers and mediocre pitchers over that time that we have allowed to just make us look awful. Royal series the last two SP had a 5.40 and a 5 ERA we scored a whopping 2 ERs off them. Singer for the reds had a 5+ era. He went 7.1 innings scored 1 with luzardo on the mound. Flaherty has been mid all year Phillies made him look like an all star. They’ve faced some bad and mediocre pitching and got owned. Today more understandable as McLean is really good and had Rangel on the mound. However, they had some matchups where they could have feasted and stat padded and made some of their numbers look better. I’m guessing hitters when they see guys that have 5+ ERA are pretty excited. Also go into Zach Wheeler in his time here, has seen the Phillies offense do this to him for a month here and a month there. It’s why some of his win loss records isn’t better. Why some years he’s been 12-7 or 14-10
