But I said last year when everybody just wanted to fire Thomson as he was the biggest issue. Thomson should’ve been replaced. Imo Dave was always the biggest issue. Hes the architect of the roster that’s routinely 2 arms short in the bullpen besides 2024 and a lineup that’s needed a middle of the order RH bat and an outfield that’s always one of the worse. Dombrowski wastes ton of money and was relatively content on the roster being good enough and running it back. He’s been given the most resources of any Phillies GM in Phillies history. there is like a third of this roster that he is paying and guys do not here that’s hurting this team. Then when you add his guys in the front office and their drafting/development is also not very good. So normally wasting money, his draft and development hasn’t been good enough.The biggest problem, the Phillies have always had in their history is development of players. But also when they have success, they don’t know when to see the writing on the wall to start the next era. This screamed at the deadline that this era of Phillies baseball was over. The window had shut. And yet instead of either going all in and trying to fix all their problems or being a seller. They went half assed again. You couldn’t do that because you weren’t good enough to go half ass and still wind up making the playoffs and winning the World Series. Now they might not even make the playoffs cause there’s September is brutal and they can’t beat anybody except for the Orioles and the nationals.
