That’s the thing I don’t understand. Allard had actually been good lately. I’m betting it’s an analytics thing which is dumb cause analytics isn’t going to help a pitcher that’s just not good

They think Phillips is going to eat innings but the guy can't go 2 outs without giving up 6 Fing runs. This is the mariners game all over again

I’ve never in my life seen a pitcher hit so hard 

lol at this point topper is just going to leave him in there not to kill his bullpen. However Phillips is Fing awful he might not be able to get 3 outs. 

They should relieve Phillips with Walker and give up 20 runs. F it.

I said that when I saw that mariners game live. The guy was getting F8ng murdered even on foul and ground balls. He could've easily given up 7 HRs that game with different winds.

Id say it has to do with a RHP vs. LHP vs. blue jays thing but blue jays are worse vs. LHP. Allard gives you 4-5 it’s fine if you go Ruiz for 2. The fact Phillips got hit hard in his last 2 minor league starts should’ve told you he isn’t going to fare well in this game. 

So apparently the reason Allard isn’t pitching is due to not being able to be called up til September 10. If they had DFA Walker then I believe they could’ve had Allard on the roster. But since they just sent him down they had to wait til September 10. 

If they were going to start this stiff on the mound they should have just sat Schwarber, Harper, Turner, etc.

them having to start Phillips again, goes back to them not DFAing Walker. If you designated Walker for assignment, then you could’ve kept allard on the roster. Allard would’ve been the one starting today instead of Phillips. This keeps going back to the fact the Phillies don’t want to admit they made a $72 million mistake and they falling into this sunk cost fallacy. Now it’s hurting you even when he doesn’t Fing start.
