MLB needs a salary cap. They also need to do what the NHL did and put an 8-year max on contracts. Will the players go for those 2 things? Nope. The question then is how long would the owners be willing to not have baseball? The owners love making money. Are they willing to go through a long waiting game, maybe even cancel a season, in order to break the union to get what they want? Who knows.

NFL has revenue sharing. Baseball owners need to be broken as well apparently.

What a joke

Utley is eventually gonna get in with the jump he’s making. Don’t see Rollins or Howard getting in though

They said next year should be even closer because there is no sure fire 1st ballots on the next round

Next year's class is garbage - the only 2 players who are even borderline are Hamels and Baun, and there's no way Baun gets in because of roids.

Sabathia and Wagner are not hall of fame caliber players. The MLB writers have turned the hall into a joke.

Sabathia is stronger than Wagner, but I could do without either in.  I wonder if the Hall of Fame "needs" someone to make it in every year, for the business that comes with an induction.

Seeing Halladay's name without the check mark for champion still stings. Man, that 2011 team absolutely should have won the World Series that year.

Both Utley and Rollins are interesting cases. If Chase could have had 2 more prime years, I don't think there is any doubt he would be a hall of famer. Unfortunately, his knees betrayed him. Rollins was a helluva fielder man. There were many times throughout the past 2 seasons watching Trea Turner butcher groundballs that I didn't yearn for the Jimmy Rollins days. No doubt the best SS in Phillies history. Unfortunately for him, his ego got in his way. If he would have just concentrated on being a line drive hitter, he absolutely could have one of the best leadoff hitters in history. Instead, he wanted to jack everything out of the park. Such a shame.

I'm surprised that Chase has the higher vote percentage out of the two of them. Rollins was the better fielder and has the MVP. Rollins also stacks up better statistically with other SS who have made the hall. If I had a pick, I would put Jimmy in over Chase, but it looks like it's going the other way. Hey, if they eventually get in, good for them.

Wow, good stuff, thanks. In regards to their fielding, Rollins also has 4 gold gloves ( i think he was robbed at least 1 or 2 more). Utley i don't think had any. I think they both will eventually get in.

The biggest problem with Rollins is that there were definitely guys who played at that position who were confirmed or suspected steroid users that put up crazy numbers. (A Rod, Tejada, Nomar, etc)

Profar to the Braves . . . wanted Phillies to sign him. I hope he's terrible for the Braves.

What's next? Estevez? A new digital scoreboard?

What is Dombroski working on? Any rumors? Anything?

Other contenders got players we get a scoreboard.

There are NO contenders.

Effing Dodgers, barring the wildfires engulfing the team, 2025 is theirs. They already bought it they just deferred paying for it.

Fans all across the country should refuse to buy and attend games involving the Dodgers.

They still gotta play the games.

And, on any given Sunday . . . wrong sport, same idea.

Sometimes the high payroll Yankees have flamed out.

Maybe the Dodgers will too.
