Stott is a Gold Glove caliber 2B and was top 10 hitter at the position in a year where he battled with a nagging injury all season. Not every player has to hit 40 home runs

Yeah, because that level of offensive production is acceptable for a position like 2B, it's not for an outfielder. Stott ranks in the top third in offense at 2B but is a Gold Glove finalist. Marsh is pretty much a bottom third platoon OF offensively with decent defense. Stott would be much harder to replace

With Ranger out it’s essentially the same staff as Ranger was good first half of the year and just replaced him with luzardo. And their offense is basically the same add in Kepler who’s a platoon player at this stage of his career. also nothing like completely finished realmuto batting 4th and hitting .083

But I’ve been saying for the last two years when you look at his analytics of runners in scoring position, he has been getting worse over the last three years. Add on it hurts the protection of the guys in front of the lineup. It’s a dramatic drop off. The fact that they still think he is a middle of the lineup hitter when that’s when you need hitters to be consistent with runners in scoring position is ridiculous. He’s not that guy anymore. He’s probably fine if he’s your eight or nine hole hitter. But they keep batting him fourth and fifth and he’s not that anymore. Really they lack a consistent cleanup and 5 hole when casty is in a funk
